The Wii Mini will be available exclusively in Canada starting December 7 for 100 real Canadian dollars (65-quid). Yes, the most adorable product just for the most adorable country. Assuming someday it makes it to UK soil, would you buy it?
It might be just £65-odd, but it lacks GameCube compatibility and internet access. So even though it is maple leaf red, is it worth it? [Best Buy.ca]

No internet means no Virtual Console means no sale.
Though it is cute and black and red so would match my living room perfectly.
I’ll take four. Screw you Nintendo.
Piracy fixes that (and seems excusable to me in this case)
I vehemently dislike the “if I’m not given an easy way to purchase something then I’m going to pirate it” argument.
If you already own the VC titles and have no other method of transferring them to a permanently offline Wii, I think that is fair. You’ve paid for the game, you just need a way of getting it on your console.
It won;t be £65 quid will it then, if you’re doing a direct comparison.
More like £79.99 or £69.99 at a massive PUSH.
Agreed, I wish journalists would stop using direct conversions.
No GameCube? No thanks.
ermm.. am i the only one who thinks the normal Wii is mini.. so might as well get that one.. or keep it as it happens..
No internet access? What’s the point, seriously.
No game updates, no shopping channel, no netflix, LAME!!
console might not cost much but what about the games? £30-40 per game has always been too much (for me anyway), but now when apps cost a fiver, old prices look even dafter than ever
To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if standard wiis dropped down to this price by the new year.
This. Mind you, the Wii has been easy to find cheaply on the second hand market as a lot of people get bored of Wii Sports and move on to something else.
No internet connectivity seems completely weird. I thought it might mean it didn’t have wifi but the wording seems pretty firm that there won’t be any connection at all …bizarre!
I see the Wii mini being aimed at bars and places that buy a Will just for parties. They dont need virtual console and dont need the internet, Easy for them!
