Anonymous, who has been trying to go after Israel, has swallowed a big fish: Israeli Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom. Anon has hacked his Facebook account and replaced the cover photo with a Free Palestine picture. Pretty embarrassing for a high ranking official!
Anon has also hacked his Twitter account and have been teasing gaining access to Shalom’s emails, saying:
Going to be pretty interesting… [YourAnonNews via @AntDeRosa]

Just seems a bit childish to me to be pissing around hacking into somebodies Facebook account, just to change their cover photo, over a conflict where people are dying…
Then you really have not understood history or conflict since the start of time.
Embarrassing the opponent, by any means, is a tactic of war and one thats been used over and over. Governments use propaganda, honey traps, start rumours, spread false information and generally try to show the otherside’s leaders are incompetent.
Im guessing the overall outcome is…
1. His supporters who saw the page were a bit enraged.
2. Resources are now being used to fix this situation and damage control meaning they cannot be used elsewhere
3. If the emails were taken they will no be going through and checking for any and all damaging data / text
4. Release of any damaging emails will result in his motives and competence being questioned
When the expenses register from the HoC was leaked I bet people said similar things and yet lots of damaging info, even if not illegal or wrong, is still being used against MPs to this day.
I think that’s a bit of an overreach to say Woody doesn’t understand conflict, just because he thinks hacking someone’s facebook account is a childish way to score a point; clowning around while people are physically fighting and dying (and NOT fighting but still dying) in a war IS childish.
This isn’t some underhand tactic by Hamas or Palestine ‘to show that the otherside’s leaders are incompetent’, or shake the government to it’s core; it’s a wooden spoon for Anon to go away with. “Ner ner, we guessed your facebook password! And we got your fb messages! Lets hope you don’t have a mistress, and use social media to communicate with her, or Israel’s going down!”
Yeah my point was not the use of misinformation such as hacking is childish, of course this has been part of warfare since people first decided to kill each other. I’m saying that specifically Anon attacking a Facebook page just to change someone’s cover photo is pretty childish… especially when Anon has got nothing to do with the conflict and probably is just a bunch of spotty teenagers hacking into Facebook to show off their skillz for the lolz
Latest News: Israel has stopped all offensive action against Hamas and conceded defeat. The reason behind this sudden turn of events has been put down to Anonymous and their various hacking attempts.
An IDF spokesman said “As soon as anonymous started defacing websites we knew we were in trouble. When they managed to change a cover photo on facebook we just had to stop before they destroyed the country. Our people just can’t handle that kind of threat. Rocket attacks against our citizens are nothing compared to hacking a facebook account. People are scared.”
