Whether you’re sick of looking at the same silver letters on your keyboard every day or you’re just a fan of an all-natural look, Lazerwood’s keys for your Mac are pretty awesome.
They’re a typing makeover for the Mac keyboard in walnut or cherry for around £25-£30, and they’re going to make your keys slightly taller. But like any good makeover, the Lazerwood keys take time and patience—you have to apply them to each letter one by one. However, if you’re a slob and you like to eat near your computer, it’s like instant clean up for you grubby old caps. [Lazerwood via Uncrate via CultofMac]

Watch what happens to wood once it is exposed to finger grease for a few months.
The grease will darken the wood and give it a oakwood look
Ew, failtastic US keyboards.
Looks like you are right but you know the only difference between the UK and US version of the apple keyboard is that the number 3 has a # instead of a £ on it. All of the other keys are in the right place for a Macbook.
Yes it annoys me sometimes when switching back to a regular PC as I am often left hunting for the @ and ” keys and also keep going to press alt 3 to get the #.
The enter key is a diferent shape as well as is the shift key and the \| key is physically in a different place where normally there would be no extra key and you are missing 1 whole physical key the §± key (which is damm useful btw).
Now I have just realised why I cannot type on my sisters Macbook.
The changes I pointed out are some of the diferences between US and UK keyboards.
The website shows Lazerwood Keys for Apple Wireless Keyboard. Now, I know it’s not me because they seem to have just stuck on and glued down the wooden counterparts of the keys onto the original keys that come with the wireless keyboard.
Edit, oh right that’s how they are applied. My mistake.
I really don’t like how they’ve replaced the symbols (like ‘command’) with words. I mean, why does the return key also need to have ‘enter’ on it? is anybody going to get confused over that? They should just stick to the original symbols and let people adapt to them if they decide to switch to a mac.
Okay, little rant over …the wood looks nice now but what about in a month or two? Howe are they treated?
p.s. I know the symbol thing is apple’s doing and not lazerwoods
Most of the differences are due to the one in the picture being a US keyboard.
Seem like weird changes to make. We got given a replacement keyboard at the genius bar a few years back which (it would appear) was an American one. It confused the hell out of me!
