Microsoft Surface has just received its most important endorsement — a spot on Oprah’s Favourite Things 2012. Here’s Oprah’s stellar review:
Take One Tablet and Call Me in the Morning: “The Surface, Microsoft’s first tablet, feels like a Mercedes-Benz to me, people! The full-size keyboard built right into the cover makes work easy, the very smart kickstand makes watching a movie or Skyping a friend a delight, the less than a pound-and-a-half weight makes a great alternative to a laptop, and the many other features make it fun for work and play. Now, that’s a wowser!” -Oprah
Honestly, what more can we say? [Oprah via Business Insider]

amazing review from a reliable source.
Bravo America. I bet she never used it, she has people for that.
Bit more reliable than Mr Biddles attempt of a review…
hmmm i wonder if she actually used it
I must have one now I know it’s Oprah approved.

I like my Surface. Touch cover takes some getting used to, but beats fighting IOS’ awful OSK.
Only things I’m not hugely happy about:
1) no obvious way to change the standby delay. I listen to a lot of music on Grooveshark through my browser. If I don’t touch the screen every minute or so, it goes into standby, and the audio stops (unlike on my iPhone, which continues to play in the background, even if Safari isn’t in-focus)
2) the screen seems to flicker a bit. Not sure if its a display redraw issue, or a faulty backlight.
3) charger cable could have a slightly deeper socket. I find it pops out if I move the tablet whilst its plugged in.
As awful as that was, she’s ridiculously influential among a certain demographic. They’ll buy whatever she’s selling.
Yeah just like Jesse Jackson who rules all black people (CURRENTLY ROLLING MY EYES)
What the hell are you on about? I meant middle aged middle class housewives. Have you not seen her show, not to mention her book club?
The funny thing is Oprah isn’t even considered black anymore. Which is actually a good thing, she’s transcended stereotypes and pigeon holing. The last thing we need in the UK is mass racial segregation like they do in the US. But then that’s another story for another time.
Taken it so personally I know what you meant.
