The return of the Cybermen in the next run of Doctor Who isn’t much of a surprise, seeing as the sci-fi show’s modern episode structure seems to simply alternate between the Daleks and the Cyberman for inspiration, but what fans will like is news of a new Neil Gaiman episode.
Gaiman’s previous episode was The Doctor’s Wife, a rather convoluted but well received story from the fourth series of the show, that managed to combine the backstory of the TARDIS with the end of an alternate universe. This time Gaiman’s been allowed to plot an outing for the Cybermen, with ex-Eastenders actress Tamzin Outhwaite and Life’s Too Short start Warwick Davis among the big names that’ll feature in the romp.
There will also be the now usual Christmas Special on December 25th, while the show itself will return for an eight-episode run in the spring of 2013. [BBC]

as long as they stop with the stone angels, i find them sooo boring
Weeping Angels*
They’ve only had 4 episodes centred around them in seven series!
“Blink” in S4,IMHO the best episode ever. A two-parter back in series 5 and then the most recent ep.
And my fiancée finds them bloody terrifying! You must be on your own with that opinion
am not a dr who nerd, so yes weeping angels, and 4 episodes is enough. i like dr who, but i switch off as soon as i see them, because its same ol’ same ol’
I’d love to hear your ‘opinion’ on the Darleks & Cybermen then…
well my opinion is that although they are both made of metal. i do not think they are sexually compatible, and to get their needs fulfilled they have to go to kwik fit for a ‘service’
and if they were ever to find a way of breeding together, their babies would be called Cybeleks.
hope that explains my ‘Opinion’ to your satisfaction
Should be on CBeebies.
The Cybermen haven’t featured in over 3 series, and the Daleks have featured in 2 episodes in the past 3 series…
Now Dr Who has reached mainstream stateside it’s “cool” to hate it. Much like Coldplay..
X&Y was a masterpiece.
xylo myloto is a modern classic
Every time I read your comments, they somehow have Sam’s voice.
So disturbing.
I bet you can’t guess what phone I have.
I hate that shows now decide to take a mid-series break. It’s another Americanised thing that came over here and has started ruining shows.
