HTC has announced that its devices packing 512MB or less of RAM will not receive an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. That means HTC One V and Desire C owners looking for some buttery goodness are out of luck, sorry. [HTC via Ars Technica]

Why the iPhone 4S Only Needs 512MB of RAM
Confirmed: The iPhone 4S Has Only 512MB of RAM
Rumour: The iPhone 4S Only Has 512MB of RAM
Never mind. My HTC Sensation can hardly deal with ICS let alone Jellybean. Time for an upgrade methinks.
Why not get onto Google Play and buy a new Nex……oh never mind.
i am hoping Project Butter has solved this
My HTC Sensation is running CM10 Jellybean 4.1.2, I get almost two days battery, better signal and have loads of good extras check out XDA, it’ s simple to flash new ROM/ Firmware etc. My new mobile will be Xperia T, after playing with Samsung GS3 and HTC One X for me the Xperia comes out tops.
that will make waiting for the 32gb nexus 4 pleasanter
wonder if the original desire is going to get it then?
as that has 576MB RAM
I think they’ll round to 512, since they didn’t even give it ICS or proper Gingerbread.
yeah i cant see it getting it, my wife has the HTC desire so was curious
Yeah, it was totally capable of running Gingerbread, rooted, and ICS wasn’t an issue (I have one lying around). HW acceleration in JB was beyond it though, on most ROMs.
