If you’ve got a huge, 920-shaped hole in your heart and can’t afford to pay for a 4G contract/don’t want to be shackled to 4GEE for two whole years, then listen up, cos the SIM-free Lumia’s landing tomorrow (with a big bump).
Online phone shop Clove’s announced you’ll be able to order the SIM-free Lumia for £520 from tomorrow. According to their press office, they have the white version in stock at the moment, and are “hoping to receive” the full rainbow spectrum of colours in the near future. [Clove via The Inquirer]
Knew it would be clove that cashed in on Nokia not making any sim free stock available in the UK. Will be interesting to see which country they’ve imported them from.
Anyone know why you only seem to be able to get the cyan colour in the US?
AT&T asked for that colour as an exclusive. Originally Nokia wasn’t going to do a cyan version. It’s unlikely to ever hit the UK, not sure about other countries.

I have the yellow one, looks absolutely stunning. Kind of a shame to put it in a case but i’m paranoid about dropping it.

Phones 4 U selling them NOW Sim Free for £459 but only red, Black and White. Yellow not available yet.

Think there is any chance of taking the network locked Lumia to one of those dodgy market unlockers and fixing all of my/our problems there?
Wouldn’t mind a white one but it’s locked exclusively to EE from Phones4U or pay and extra £50 to get it from Clove unlocked (although they’ve sold out already).
Too late the Nexus 4 was announced since and it’s half the price.

If the Nexus 4 was running Windows Phone 8 – then I would be interested, but its not.
Conversly if the 920 was running Android I’d be interested as would a lot more people than who are interested now.

HTC 8X available from 3 on the same contract that I’m on now (one plan) for £29 up front Vs lumia 920 £46 p/m from EE for their stupid, expensive, unusable 4G service. As much as I think the nokia is the better phone I can see HTC outselling them by a ridiculous amount thanks to the exclusivity deals.
I don’t see what nokia is getting out of it, the 920 is 3rd billing behind the iphone and the galaxy 3 so EE aren’t pushing it at all
