This amuses me greatly. Although he could have just plugged in an electric heater, since that’s the definition of an energy wasting machine. Converts useful electrical energy into utterly worthless low-temperature heat. Activate outside for the greatest wasting effect.

As for your heater you want to run it inside an air-conditioned space, or a fridge, so that you waste even more energy by moving the heat away from the heater.
Or even better, put fridge in a heater in a air-conditioned room – but that’s not as fun or artgineeringy – it’s mostly physicart.
