Yeah, no sense of scale in these photos. It still surprises me how small this thing is in the flesh.

Tsk. Tsk.

Yeah, the optional electronic viewfinder on the NEX series series is a rather stunning 2.4 megapixel OLED affair. It's more like £230 if you shop around, but the NEX-6 has the same OLED EVF built in.

Yeah, the viewfinder isn't strictly necessary. If it was that critical to me, I'd get an NEX-6.

Also, it's still a lot smaller than a DSLR, despite the lens making it chunkier than a compact. The 16mm pancake lens is a more reasonable size, and the new motorised 16-50mm should be a lot more compact, if expensive.

The viewfinder is the "eyepiece" you would look through, on this camera (and may other compacts) it's a optional extra.

They generally look like this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/416%2Bs3kHxKL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

It is a sweet looking camera, but that lens kit kind of precludes "Advanced amateurs who want an interchangeable-lens camera with a DSLR image quality, in a compact size."

I don't understand what the deal with the viewfinder is, you're saying that it comes without the LCD screen and you have to buy that?
