Gizmodo alumnus Joel Johnson says this is “perhaps the most fully realised Lego mech build I have ever seen.” I’ve seen many amazing Lego mechas in my life and I don’t agree. I think it’s the greatest, period. There’s no perhaps here.
It’s just amazing. The scale of this model coupled with its mobility is formidable. Serious engineering and thinking went into this beast. The aesthetics are perfect, as is the incredible detail — like the illuminated jets on its back. Completely worth of becoming an official Lego set via Lego Cuusoo (Cuusoo is the name of Lego’s version of Kickstarter. Ish).
Its name is Atlas, a juggernaut robot piloted by the Juggernaut — the Marvel character who’s the stepbrother of the X-men’s mentor, Charles Xavier. [Flickr—Thanks Joel!]

Massive 200,000-Piece Roman Colosseum Is the Most Impressive Lego Architecture Model I've Ever Seen
That is freaking cool.
I made the Batpod out of Lego. Both wheels rotate about the main long-axis and it fires projectiles. But no one cares
Cool story Bro!
wow
Is that a red button I see on the side of this Lego ?
it is me or does lego just not look like lego any more?
i cant wait till my son (now 1/5 yrs old) is big enough to get him some lego …
I still have all my ORIGINAL Lego from childhood. That’s what I am planning to show my boy, if I have a boy as my first child.
me too. he has some duplo style bricks at the moment we (i mean i) play with. and he knocks them over lol. he is pretty good with a footy for his age though!
i still have mine but a lot of it is chewed or melted and i went through a phase of chewing all the posts out of them so they dont stay together too good (slap face doh!) got a few bricks that are still good though, just need to sort through em one day
I’m a grownarse man (aged 24) and still play with Lego as it’s a creative outlet. Plus I’m an engineer and funtime with Lego is built in
i was going to have a play with it but i dont have many technical lego bits, want to have a go at making a model merry go round but seriously lacking gears and posts…..and holey bricks
Look closely at all of those bits, this model does look like it’s made up of the sorts of pieces I used to get in kits 30 years ago (except perhaps those tube bits, they look stiffened, and the tube bits I had were just bendy plastic).
It’s not like the 5 specialist parts Harry Potter kits or anything.
what age is he? 1/5 of a year old? = about 73 days? What an odd way to express age!
It’s been that way for at least 20 years, man.
i remember making something simmilar when I was about 8, i took inspiration from that cartoon gargoyles and the robotic gargoyle or something along those lines, happy to see how much lego has evolved
I have a weekly PS3 night with the lads that generally end up in staying up too late and getting far too competitive. A few weeks ago i retrieved my plastic storage box full of original lego technics from my parents and left it in the front room. When the guys came round they both saw the lego and imediatley started building… 5 hrs later we had 2 spaceships, 1 robot, 1 aeroplane and some kind of giant spinny thing that was pretty dangerous when it falls apart at full speed. The PS3 for all its glory couldn’t compete with some plastic bricks and 3 guys regressing…
