A chap by the name of Joseph Morganelli runs friendly looking anti-piracy site The Morganelli Group. He also used to run BinNews, a large usenet aggregator that lost a $15m piracy case. He must be a slightly conflicted man.
The amazing turnabout in Morganelli’s life was uncovered by TorrentFreak, which points out that Morganelli still owns the BinNews domain. BinNews itself was the subject of a huge MPAA legal case back in 2006, when it was spectacularly crushed and ordered to pay $15m in compensation for enabling piracy.
Now, incredibly, turncoat Morganelli is using the same usenet indexing tools developed to run BinNews to help track down copyrighted content on behalf of the big media corporations, saying on Twitter about his newfound role as internet good cop: “Love me/Hate me. My conviction to stopping piracy will not waiver.” [TorrentFreak]

I think its the other way around.
It’s ‘waver’, not ‘waiver’.
I can legitimately hate him a little bit more now that I know he got those two words mixed up.
Wow, that’s some pretty bad press – I wonder if he will lose his job over that connection? Unfortunately, like a mythical beast of yore, if you cut off the head and two more take its place.
