Paramount’s trickling out tiny teasers to keep our interest piqued, first a poster, then that awesome trailer, and now Benedict Cumberbatch locked up in the brig. Something tells me, by the menacing distain for Kirk written across his face, he’s not going to stay there for very long.
We still don’t know a heck of a lot about him, but apparently he’ll be called ‘John Harrison’, which doesn’t mean anything to me. I still reckon we might see something of the Wrath of Khan here, but I guess we’ll have to wait to find out. We do know Cumberbatch is, or once was, Star Fleet, so read into that what you will. At any rate, he looks like he’s going to be an awesome bad guy, though possibly not on the same scale as Javier Bardem (can anyone out-creep that guy?). [ComingSoon via TotalFilm]

Star Trek uniform was intended to be streamlined, clean. It’s the future, an ideal one.. Don’t dirty it with silly “emo” generalizations.
Besides, how could you be considered emo in skinny jeans, if they’re uniform? Slim-fit trousers had existed long before, and I imagine were part of many uniforms.

I’m a big fan of Sherlock.. He’s very dynamic, mainly intimidating, but borders scary at some points.. And somehow sustains a charm throughout. CAN’T WAIT to see his performance!

Well they’ve said it’s a reboot of the ST universe…it’d be a hell of a twist to have Kirk murdered in the second outing. And Cumberbatch beats the guy playing Kirk any day.
A famous historical John Harrison was a carpenter and clockmaker who invented the marine chronometer. If that helps.
There is a “John Harriman” in old ST, maybe it’s a typo
