If you spend any time on the internet at all, this shouldn’t shock you: Game of Thrones was the most pirated show of the year.
Dexter, last year’s number one, fell to second place because dire wolf enthusiasts downloaded a single episode of GoT 4,280,000 times. Also because Game of Thrones is awesome. Winter is coming again in March, giving fans of the series a chance to up that number for 2013. [TorrentFreak]

More People Pirate Game of Thrones Than Watch Game of Thrones on HBO

Game of Thrones Faithfully Reconstructed in Lego
damn right, as sky Atlantic is only available on sky, what did they expect.
long live piracy arrrr
I have to wait until 4 March 2013 to see Game of Thrones Season 2 (pre-order of the Blu Ray set to arrive then).
Out of all of my friends who watch GoT I am the only one who has not seen it. I actually think I may be the only person in the world who wants to that has not seen it.
It’s unrealistic for me to buy a TV licence & Sky subscription for the purpose of watching this show, which I understand is my choice, yet I feel like I am being punished for being honest.
I torrent every show.
-No ads
-Quick and easy (like I am)
-Always uploaded shortly after showing, so you don’t have to wait ages for it to air over here.
I’ll keep on torrenting until these companies catch on to offer a better service than the shit they do now.
^this,
Am the same but yet I buy games, music/vidya content owners really need to learn from steam,
I can either wait for a show/film to come out in the uk then wait for it to be delivered then wait while it yells at me that I shouldn’t torrent or kill a policeman or kill a policeman and steal his helmet or kill a policeman steal his helmet then poo in it or kill a policeman steal his helmet take a poo in it then give it to his grieving widow or kill a policeman steal his helmet take a poo in it then give it to his grieving widow then steal it back… or I can torrent it.
Yup I buy every game, Steam, though I pass on EA games cause they’re Origin only, fuck that lol. In fact Steam has made me lazy because it is so easy to buy, install and play that I cannot be bothered to search for a torrent.
I don’t buy music yet, I don’t want a load of CDs and there isn’t a good music service like Steam yet… I’m not supporting Apple and iTunes makes everything harder. Though I don’t torrent music either, I just watch it all on Youtube, so easy to stick all your fave songs in Faves and just listen to the playlist.
I would love Netflix for Movies and TV shows, however over here at least in the UK all the shows are like 5 years old, so I end up torrenting it all.
It’s really annoying when you buy a game then it turns out that you’ve accidentally given EA money.
For music I’ll buy it if it’s someone small, established artists have enough money without needed my limited pennies.
The only way to beat piracy is to make the genuine experience better, easier and faster.
At the moment the content providers make us wait ages, pay a fortune and be interrupted by multiple ad breaks and adverts overlaying the shows on banners.
How about doing what games companies do and release the shows ad supported for free and pay to remove the ads?
I was one of them, as I don’t have a TV and I like free stuff, oh and it’s pretty good.
It was also the most difficult to watch legally.
Even though i watched each episode twice on Atlantic i still downloaded them so i can go back and watch them before series 3 arrives.
I TIVO the lot. Game of thrones, walking dead ect but I then download it all so I can watch it normally 1 week earlier and with no adds. When will the tv companies learn? Maybe 1 week to late?
