Who’d have thought that the majestic Golden Eagle had a taste for blood, human blood. In fact, who’d have though any bird would actually be able to claim a human as food. Watch as this incredible bird genuinely tries to steal a kid right from a park in Montreal, and very, nearly, almost actually pulls it off. No more cute little birdy.
Of all the winged predators, the Golden Eagle is one of the most impressive, that’s for sure. Having said that, it looks like even it couldn’t quite manage the weight of the kid, but it was bloody close. Can you imagine if it really had completely made off with it? Blimey. [YouTube]

Shame it was confirmed as a hoax. I was gonna go bait some prams near the local wildlife centre and see if any birds of prey fancied a meal to go.
Lucky kid, those things have a strong grip and very sharp talons, and it wasn’t too high of the deck when it released it. Could have been much worse.

Bit of a let down, all it did was lift him up a bit and drop him.
Obviously fake, mainly due to pretty blatant camer trickery. I also think that is unlikely the bird would drop the kid!
