We didn’t see this coming: Google Image Search is no longer showing sexually explicit images for many popular queries. What the hell is going on?
Searching for “tits” brings up a grid of busty women in tank tops, mostly. Before now, you would have seen actual skin. As far as we can tell, SafeSearch is now locked on. You can enable “Filter explicit results” from the SafeSearch button, but that eliminates all results entirely for something like “tits” or “pussy.” More explicit text searches—”titfuck” or “anal penetration”—stil yields porny results. But the usual standbys? Scrubbed clean. A Bing search for the same words gives up a world of raunch.
We’ve reached out to Google for an explanation of the sanitised results.

Are you sure it’s not just you? I just replicated your searches, and I got very NSFW images.
Nope it let me turn SafeSearch off and I wish it hadn’t, the 2nd pic for vagina was a pic of some guy with his ball sack cut open. and then there were also normals pics of vaginas.
That’s got to hurt!
Did you test this at you work? Companies can ask google to lock safesearch on for a group o ips.

Turn safe search off and/or try this when you’re not at work where the web may be filtered.
This was on the US site too. It seems to have affected them, since none of them can get explicit images any more. However it doesn’t seem to have affected us. Yet.
It does affect us in the UK now and (as a friend points out) the German version of Google. If you make very explicit searches then you can still get some results but something simplistic and to the point doesn’t yield quite as much before.
Oh, we aren’t getting the full frontal Sam Biddle version of the post?
