If you’ve got access to a bucket of Lego Technic pieces, then you’ve probably already got everything you need to build what could possibly be the most useful keychains ever devised. As for the building instructions, just take a look at the image above and you’ll easily figure it out.
It’s cheap, it’s compact, and removing a single key doesn’t require you to tear your fingernails to shreds trying to pry open a keyring. And because Lego is produced to such exacting dimensions, there’s little to no chance this thing is going to come apart until you want it to. As a bonus it’s even easier to build a spot to hang the keychain when you get home—just stick a Lego baseplate to the wall near your front door. Done.

A beautiful thing.
Nice, especially love the whole stacking thing. Even though I carry 6 keys with me they’re in 3 distinct sets so I’d only need 3 of these
If only Lego wasn’t so expensive
Its a good idea and stuff but good luck to you when the younger kids play with it and oops loses your keys!
I just have some rare earth magnets and stick my keyring on that whenever I’m home.
mounted on a shelf, obviously. EDIT BUTT PLS
Why carry loads of keys around? I de-keyed 20 years ago and rarely carry more than 2, then you dont need any additional hardware to link them all together.
And another thing…
Why Oh why do people feel the need to over-label things? What else would that small array of hooks you bought/made yourself to hold keys be for?!
Don’t put them too close to the door. Don’t want people stealing them through the letter box with a piece of wire.
Ive been doing this for a while now and it is actually really useful, I used a different (slightly smaller) piece of lego on my key loop but it works really well
I’ve been doing this for years. I don’t snap them together though. Lego isn’t strong enough, and there’s a risk of loosing keys.
I have a big lego board attached to a door, and the whole family have Lego blocks attached to their keys. It’s a great way to store keys, and my friends have now started doing the same.
A single lego brick for easy wall-storage is neat, but a carabina works much better for securely attaching multiple keyrings
I still have one of these:
