Images taken with an unannounced Asus tablet calling itself the ME172V have popped up on image sharing site Picasa, with the low-res 1280 x 720 photos fitting nicely with the 1-Megapixel front-facing camera expected in the new budget tablet.
One thing's for sure -- this is not a fake. The photos have been uploaded to an account belonging to Asus, so we do know for sure it has something with a low-res camera on ready for launch. Whether or not it'll be Nexus-branded is another thing, though.
However, we've previously heard supply chain sources claiming Google's and Asus are readying a super-budget Nexus that'd hit the US for $99 and the UK for hopefully a decent pounds equivalent, plus this ME172V model has also been spotted before. And it's appeared in online benchmark tests, which reveal a low-spec, 1GHz processor and equally downgraded 1024 x 600 display.
