The long-awaited Sky Go app is now, finally, available to all Android devices running Jelly Bean — including the LG Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S III, Sony Xperia S, and a whole host of other phones and tablets. Blimey, that didn’t take long now did it?
If you, fellow up-to-date Android-owner, were seething with envy when the iPad and iPhone got Sky Go before you, worry no longer: you too can now watch a crippling heap of films, sport and live telly from the comfort of your device. Procrastination, how we’ve missed you. [Google Play via Cnet]

Holy mother of mercy, I thought that was never going to happen…
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!
Sorry, I just got carried away there. Normal service will be resumed shortly
The very thief of time.
I don’t need no stinking Sky – Murdoch is not welcome in my living room.
Unplug the aerial and the dish and live without ads in your face 24/7, it’s so much nicer.
Yeah, because ITV, C4 and 44 other Freeview channels never show any ads…
Read the comment again slowly…..ITV, C4 and Freeview come down an aerial…WHICH I UNPLUGGED. Any commercial TV is a waste of time it is all utter crap.
Still no tablets though…
Actually, it does work on the Nexus 7. The first Android tablet to do so, probably because it’s the most popular.
Works on my Galaxy tab 10.1 – which got the jellybean update yesterday
Still doesn’t work on rooted devices
– my Nexus 7 and SGSII would like some Sky Go action.
And it never will, at least not the official Sky app. Sky have licensing agreements that mean they can’t allow it to work on rooted devices.
Do you know why? Do they think it’ll be recorded and transmitted in some way? Is there a way to circumvent it?
No way round it. Its the same with jailbroken iPhones. There was a way round it, but it only lasted a few weeks. I know with the iPhone it was because you could pay a £15 per month subscription, and with jailbreaking you could then hook it up to your tv. As for Android, I think they are more worried about what it may do in the future.
Not that I’d ever want to watch the rubbish that’s on Sky or any of Murdocks evil news programmes. But to do something with my rooted S3 and stick it to the maaaaannnn…
That’d be just sweeeeeet…
And to do it whilst it was teethered to my laptop (yeah T-Mobile… TEETHERED!!!)
BURN!!! YEAH BABY!!! BURNNNNN!!!!
Or I could just carry on being an Accountant… Oh hum…
