Vimeo user alversae has posted a video which shows a UPS delivery guy wander up to the front of his house and steal his daughter’s Christmas present — an iPad mini — right off the porch where it had just been left by FedEx.
Obviously getting a high-end piece of technology delivered and left on your doorstep is never the single smartest idea, but the fact remains that — of all people — a UPS driver shouldn’t be wandering around stealing packages off of doorsteps. Fortunately, now UPS has seen the footage it no longer denies the claims that the item was stolen. Merry Christmas, from UPS! [Vimeo via Reddit]

what a tosser
if that was over here it would be Yodel drivers
the worst delivery company ever.
I must be lucky, never had a problem with Yodel, now Parcel Force on the other hand…
maybe its just Birmingham yodel drivers then, i didn’t realise argos used them as it was my first time arranging home delivery the other week, if i had of known i wouldn’t have bothered, i ended up collecting instore after the failed to appear day after day even though rescheduling had been arranged
Well, looking on Amazon’s forums I think Yodel is pretty widely disliked to put it politely
I tend to avoid using any courier delivery if I can, my recent experience was because I was tempted by the free trial of the Amazon Prime delivery. I’ve cancelled it and gone back to waiting for royal mail. Last time I had delivery from Argos one parcel turned up at 6:15 at night, the other at 7:30 in the morning – both had said between 7 and 6.
Yeah, I no longer trust Yodel to get next day deliveries from Amazon. I’d arranged for a package to be delivered to my home on a Saturday since I knew I’d be in. The tracking status reported that it had stayed in their depot for the day. Then on Monday it was left at the bottom of my stairwell. Fortunately my flatmate found it when he got back, but it might not have been such a happy ending.
I had two packages from Amazon via Parcel Force last week, one was left in the stairwell outside my flat, Amazon said two had been delivered, after I complained to ParcelForce the second turned up a few days later, through my letterbox.
I was one of those unfortunate suckers to have an Amazon delivery by yodel last Christmas. I ordered about £700 worth of Christmas gifts and to make sure there would be someone in the flat when they were delivered, I asked for everything to be bundled together. delivery day came and no delivery came. when I chased up the tracking number, there was a note on the website saying that they attempted delivery, that no one was home and that the box had been left at the ‘porch’ of the property. I live in a high rise building that has just shy of 100 flats, with one communal entrance, and no ‘porch’ to speak of. So really, either A, the driver was a complete and useless c word and actually left a delivery of that size by the entrance of a building right next to a bunch of shops, or B, and this is the one I believe happened, fucker stole the lot. Yodel were completely useless when I called them straight away. Amazon on the other hand, were AMAZING. you go on their website and can request they call you, I went with this option figuring it would take at least a few hours before they got back in touch, but it was a matter of seconds before my phone went off. The guy I spoke to was top notch and had the whole delivery re issued and sent by a different courier the next day, in the morning as I explained there would be no one in after 1 PM. Never heard back regarding what had actually happened with YODEL, but I do hope that they sacked the driver.
I ordered 6 hard disks in one order last year. Two days after the delivery date came and went, a sheepish Parcel Force driver turned up at my door and told me that he’d had a chemical spill in the back of his van, and my hard disks had been completely dissolved. How a chemical that potent doesn’t destroy his van, I didn’t bother to ask. I just rang his manager, who couldn’t believe his ears.
Parcel Force did arrange total compensation, so there’s that at least. I don’t know what happened to the driver.
Dissolved, perhaps?
This comes to mind…
Yodel are shocking. Had a nightmare with them not delivering then not picking up an item a few months back. I woht buy from Asda again as they use Yodel. I wouldnt order from any company if i knew they used yodel.

UPS Guy Steals an iPad Mini That FedEx Had Just Delivered and Also the Video Uploaded on Gizmodo.co.uk
wot a idiot…..everyone knows 7 inch tablets are rubbish…get a man pad…6 feet across and weighs 200 pounds…now thats a tablet…
Good Guy UPS was just trying to save the little girl from the evil of Apple.
Yodel – as far as I’m concerned – are the most helpful delivery people ever! I’ve had packages I’ve missed, but they left a mobile number on the card – which when rung has gone through to the driver who came back at 19:30 to deliver it. Much better than waiting for a re-delivery or going to pick it up.
I swear I clicked reply to @bikerlifestyle..
Complete opposite where I live in Devon; they left a card with a time which stated they tried deliver 20 minutes after I got home from work ( they must have come ~ten minutes before I came home as I saw their van in town ). The card had no tracking number on it, and when I rearranged delivery they came a day earlier than I requested ( luckily I was home when they came that time ).
The trouble with many of these smaller courier firms is that the drivers are self employed and often use their own cars to deliver, meaning they don’t care one little bit if they damage your item or deliver it early/late/to the wrong street etc. In some areas you get good drivers, in others you don’t…
On first read, I understood the UPS man to be stealing his own daughter’s iPad…
I’m a postie although royal mail seem intent on running down the service we are a lot better than the competition . Little tip that only pensioners seem to understand these days.If you give your postie a small tip at xmass you will be amazed at how good the service is for the next year .Obvisly you shouldnt have to tip him but being appreciated makes people work so much harder in fact just a thank you works for me.
Whilst I’m not sure you were meant to be replying to me, I’m glad you did. Great tip.
DPD are brilliant at delivery. They send you an email telling you the time slot e.g. 12.32 to 13.32 and stick to it. Actually, that’s not true; they were once 5 minutes early.
Another company – Citylink? – they have green and yellow vans, once threw my delivery over a gate at the side of my house. Fortunately, the goods survived.
