In our two Crimbo competitions so far, you’ve had to rely upon your Photoshop skillz (or lack thereof), or commenting prowess. This time, all that’s required of you is some basic knowledge of the world of technology — specifically, we want to know what gadget or tech you’re most looking forward to seeing in 2013. Easy, right? Well, it will be, if you’ve been paying attention during Giz Class this year.
To enter, simply leave a comment on this post between 1pm Monday 17th (that’s today), and 9am this Friday the 21st, telling us what gadget or technology you’re most excited about in 2013. Will it be fairly-priced 4G? A retina display mini iPad? Flexible displays? Google Glass? Your answer doesn’t have to be the smartest, the funniest, or the most obscure — we’ll be choosing the winner at random.
What will the winner get? Why, it’s another Sony Xperia Go, haters. You’re more than welcome to auction it off for charity though, of course.
- Submit your entry by commenting on this post, from 1pm on Monday 17th December, to Friday 21st December, at 9am.
- Anyone can enter, regardless of location.
- Judges’ decision is final.
- The most important rule — HAVE FUN.
- The winner will be chosen at random, and announced at 1pm this Friday.

Who Won Our Crimbo Photoshop Challenge?
I’m looking forward to the iphone 5s or 6, only cos of the gnashing and wailing it will cause amongst deb-ridden fanbois or ihaters.
Ah, for an edit button.
Substitute deb with debt. *headdesk*
Ooo, in fact I look forward to the Gizmodo forum edit button!
I think Galaxy S IV. I truly believe Samsung will create a new design for the phone.
Oh, and person in the pic is Billie Piper form Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
I smell burning undergarments!
No it’s not, my mental wank bank says otherwise.
The one I am most curious to see would be the e-ink/lcd phone.
I’d be interested in that too. If it was pure e-ink, the battery life could be phenominimimimal.
NFC iphone
Xbox 720 is what I’m waiting for, as long as it comes with PS3 controllers
mother of god… ps3 controllers?! Why would you subject yourself to such torture
I prefer the PS3 controllers over the 360′s.
Gimme a PS4 with the Dualshock 3 and some fixed triggers and I’ll be a happy bunny.
I guess it’s personal preference, but after an hour or so with a ps3 controller my hands start to cramp up, so you can imagine why I prefer xbox 360 controllers. Microsoft may have screwed us with play and charge kits, but at least they’ve invested a lot of money in designing an ergonomic controller.
That’s funny cos my left thumb cramps up when using the 360 controller. The battery pack also gets in the way of my fingers.
The gadget I will most be looking forward to is my ordered nexus 4 as its highly unlikely to come until next year.
After this I think maybe bendy screens will be cool
UK Porn Filter opt-in… oh, wait… nope. I got nothin’.
Proper pricing with realistic allowanced on 4G would be amazing. What’s 500Mb all about?!
The Xbox 720, or the steam console.
Im definitely looking forward to the padfone 2 two devices and only one data plan but its obvious the greedy networks are resistant to selling a device in effect which loses them another possible data plan. but hopefully asus can push it through so we can see it sold in the uk
Definitely the new XBox. Very interested to see where they go with it – particularly the specs, but also would like to see what they do with the controller (if anything), what they are doing with Kinect, and the future of XBox Live and Arcade.
The Fleshlight iPad app & attachment. Only to see what kind of person buys such a horrific item.
YOU STOLE MY ANSWER
easy, the fanbois – so they can feel closer to Apple
its a pointless device. I would never see the iPad screen past my beer belly anyway
id like to see some tech that is built to be a standalone product. a nice piece of tech where the company isnt caring what everyone else is doing and give us something with real character
I’m looking forward to another “free speed upgrade” from Virgin Media broadband, followed by another bi-annual notice of price increase.
personally i’d love just something new, something different. ive tried to get a new phone but can never decide because they’re all the same. innovation, thats what i want in a phone
Drones fighting drones
I’m looking forward to the Surface Phone; assuming, of course, that it will be made available to consumers.
Ill be looking forward to a Google Nexus 4 as it seems i will have to wait until then to receive mine!
… now give me my prize and ill be on my way!!
Would love to see what Valve comes up with on a Steam box. A Google-designed Motorola phone would be great to see too, though don’t know if one will be ready by the time my phone contract is up in the middle of next year.
Lytro perspective shift, cos I likes to look at the worlds differently.
Personally, I can not wait for the Galaxy SIV and Note III to come out. I will be getting a new phone early in the summer and it will be one of those two. I am curious to see if we will at last see Samsung’s bendy screens
Although I love my iPhone and would love to see a new one with NFC and a possible redesign I would like to see a kick-ass Windows phone that can really complete in looks to the iPhone and Galaxy. People say looks aren’t everything, but lets face it, a lot of us buy them for the form factor first and functionality second!
iPhone 6 running Windows Phone 8? (We can dream…)
Roll on 2013
I’m looking forward to a complete redesign of IOS for 2013. The operating system feels out of date compared to latter day Android phones and Windows Phone. I am seriously considering switching to Android when my iPhone contract runs out. It’s not because I want to per se, it’s just that they don’t seem to be keeping up with the competitors any longer. Apple’s motto used to be ‘it just works’ but increasingly things aren’t working as well or as innovatively as they used to.
I’m looking forward to the long promised upgrade to the mayan calendar app. At the moment it just stops on December 21st.
Donate my winnings to charity
I’m looking forward to ios 7
Steam console – It might mean the release of HL3 – ha!
Also, 4K TV’s at a decent price
Yes, 4k TVs and a new wildlife show by David Attenborough!
I’m looking forward to a tech that can be implemented in the hospitals (especially cancer specialist hospitals) which will solely target cancerous cells and safely extradite them from the body without causing any negative effects to the body (especially metasis prostrate cancer cells). All that money going into cancer research has to be able to get something like this by now.
Another disappointing Keynotes speech… “ladies and gentlemen in this new massively overpriced product we have….(drum roll) fixed our previous mistakes and added a new beta function.” Of course the tech world will tremble with excitement during the speech, only to snap back into reality the next day realizing what they have done… Like going on a night out and waking up next to Susan Boyle…. WHY WON’T THE DIRTY COME OFF!!!!!!!!!
meh phones. Bring me my Linux powered Steam box and all the Team fortress and Portal delights…… ohh bugger too late
It has to be the Asus Transformer Book for me. So far the only Windows 8 hybrid that even comes close to offering the tablet and laptop experience I crave in a beautiful design. Despite all the moaning from some people I love Windows and I really like Metro as an interface, I am just waiting for teh right hardware to bring it all together and I think the Transformer Book might just be it.
I can’t wait to get my filthy little mits on one.
An update to that Fleshlight attachment for the iPad, please. Also: a new iPad.
Television. Or more to the point over-sized 4k OLED screens. I think LG had a 84″ 4k display at around £13k, which is an amazing price for a few early adopters that can bring the price down further, maybe as low as £5-7k by the end of 2013. If we can get a 4k 80″+ OLED by the end of 2013 for £5k then I’m a very happy bunny.
2014 = 4k for £4k.
Well this is certainly one way to get people commenting haha.
Gotta say i’m looking forward to any new tablets (preferably a new Nexus) that Google will announce/release.
If I was to tell you what tech I was most looking forward to in 2013 I would lose my job
Please do tell, I am very curious now.
Yes, come onto G+ and spill the beans!
Hahahaha my life/career is worth more than G+
Dag Nammit! oh well. How about this then, when the things you are excited about being released next year get released next year, can you then tell us that those things are the things that you were excited about now?
Yes
Excellent, even that still seems exciting!
I’m most looking forward to the ASUS version of the nexus 7 so dropping the nexus name so they can add mini-hdmi output, mini-SD reader, etc. Oh and hopefully make it 4G as well.
That will never happen. The Nexus 7 was designed by Google, so they own the rights, and let’s be honest, with the success of the device, they’re never going to give Asus the rights to make it for themselves.
Don’t think it will be possible in 2013, but an edit button on Giz UK is something mankind must look to achieve in my lifetime (I’m more than 5 million years old you know)
back to your fjords Slarty.
I would hope for the new xbox if they get round to releasing it….
iPhone 5s or 6 with the Jony Ives inspired iOS 7 – fingers crossed they can make the software more contemporary as it’s fading fast.
Eagerly awaiting the release of the retina display iPad mini so I can continue to laugh that the nexus 7 is still a better device
Although I don’t think we’ll see them in 2013 I’d love to see a working Google glasses OR a Star Trek Next-Gen style communicator phone pinned to your shirt like a brooch (tap it and say call ‘Penny’ for example).
Most exciting to see Nokia introducing Android Os in their mobiles..
I luv Nokia and android too,but it’s not possible yet..
Iam Waiting….
I’m looking forward to more information on the Lumabox. Hopefully a release date or pricing!
http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2012/03/the-no-name-3dtv-that-blew-my-eyes-right-out-of-their-sockets/
Yes, me too, Sams review made me dribble.
You and me both.
The MoD releasing iphone5 compatible 4G bandwidth so I can actually use my shiny new iPhone at higher speeds and not have to choose between very limited networks to supply said internets : )
ah – also the 100quid tricorder so I can indulge my hypochondria. Cough, cough.
Hardly original, as its the picture of the article, but google glass seems cool, can just add to my already overwhelming laziness.
Definitely the steambox/console as it seems like a great addition to the out-dated current gaming platforms
The wonderful browser tech that gives a user the ability to custom filter certain images from being seen while looking at a web-page at work… oh wait… Nope. I got nothing
i am mostly looking forward to improved batteries for all our beloved gadgets, i would like twice a week charging for my phone
I’ll just be happy to see hard drives come down to 2011 prices.
i would like to see way better netflix/hulu type offerings in the uk, comparable to us versions.
Im waiting for 8 Series AMD graphic cards hoping that their prices will be a bit lower than 7870 supposed to be out in January 2013
Me? I’d like to get my next Nokia (remember them?) Winphone with the super-duper PureView camera but at a sensible price.
i am waiting for the iNexus58
https://www.dropbox.com/s/822jnzr97jwt3it/iNexus58.jpg
New updates for the popular Linux distro’s, now that the general public has seen how terrible Windows 8 is, this is the time for Linux distros to up their game and finally usher in the year of Linux!
Even though I don’t like apple, I’m hoping they’ll bring out some radical new OS design, sometime.
Nexus 5 (well, if the nexus 4 is not shipping, then we might as well get the nexus 5..)
not particularly excited for any technology – but in terms of software, indie indie indie games :3
Looking forward to the R-Pi camera board….. then its off to somewhere remote to launch a weather balloon and send it up!
Some people are commenting on what they are looking forward to being released in 2013, of which i’d have to say, for me, it’s got to be the Samsung S4 & Iphone 5S as they are my two favourite phones.
Some people are commenting on what they would like to be released in 2013, for me it’s got to be the Luma Box, the Lytro Perspective shift software and Samsungs bendy screens as the possibilities of what you could do with either, any or all three of them both boggle and blow the mind.
Some people are commenting on what they hope to be invented in 2013, like cancer treatments and the like and i’d agree with all those too, if all tech companies donated all the money they spend in just one month towards a cure for cancer, aids and other terrible illnesses, i’m certain these things would be a thing of the past by now.
Some people have come up with the odd comedy suggestion, like the elusive edit button in Gizmodo commenting, and i take my hats of to you all, for I wear 3.
I’ve spent my time making photoshop entries, i spent all last week trying to be funny to get the prize for best comment and still i didn’t win any. this time round i thought, what shall i do? write one really, really long post, or lots of small ones, both being good ways to stack the odds in my favour, maybe even both? But no.
I’ve decided that maybe i will win, probably I wont, but i’m tired of jumping through hoops for Gizmodo now, this emotional roller coaster is too much.
Yes, you’re giving away prizes and yes it’s down to me if i partake, but i’m not going to obsess over this one for once, i’m going to leave this here and think no more about it.
Did i Win Yet?
How about Now?
Hello?
Is it Friday yet? DId i win yet???
I need to win! Hello??
Have i? Have i won??
Think no more about it?! At least until you see a notification for this comment appear. Then, BOOM. Back to thinking about it…
Did I get ya thinking about it again!
Great minds
http://bit.ly/SEqgPY
http://bit.ly/T2uFZC
Boom! Well done! I see what you did there!
Question, how do you link to a comment?
Every comment has it’s own ID, which is why Notifications can take you straight to a reply when you click on the link
I used Firebug to explore the code, copied the ID from the right ID (id=”li-comment-148222″), appended it to the URL from your reply, and BOOM! Instant smart arse response (well, after faffing about it bitly…)!
eg. I’m replying to comment 148206, which can be seen at the end of this URL.-

Thats very clever! thanks for the lesson!
I will just leave this here so you have to come back, read and be reminded of it.

” it’s basically a bunch of not so lovely online folks who post stuff to get people angry”
I truly resent that. Judge me on how lovely I am by this reply http://goo.gl/YAFJZ , which I am seriously having second thoughts about it.
Oh dear
I’m sorry Marcelo, i didn’t mean it, i was only trying to be funny, you’re not really a troll!

A small smart phone that not just a rubbish copy of it’s big (hide yourself behind this tablet of a phone [Galaxy S3 mini]) brother. Or is that just a dream?!
GOOGLE GLASS. GOOGLE GLASS GOOGLE GLASS GOOGLE GLASS.
Also Pebble finally getting released.
(echo!)…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…ass…

I’m not copying gnargle’s style btw – I’m just excited
I would like to see that working.
I’ve actually had the chance to use one & it’s VERY COOL!
The SDK is very basic though, so it’s still kind of up to developers to develop gestures & controls for software. It’s incredibly accurate & sensitive though.
@bikerlifestyle – for sofa-based operations, I think the Kinect 2 will be a better bet.
That looks awsome!
Nice. I have registered as a developer. I want one.
Ahh, you beat me to it. I pre-ordered mine what feels like forever ago. Must be at least 6 months ago. Back then they said delivery time would be December 2012
i like the look of that but wonder how it distinguishes between natural hand gestures and deliberate actions
also i dont see the point when you have to be so close to the screen, now operating it from the sofa is where i become very very very interested
Just hopped over to the link to check it out. The tech looks amazing, so smooth and cool but, I don’t know, maybe it’s because it’s the end of a long day at the keyboard but I tried “playing along” with the demo vid. Half way through I get tired of holding my arms in the air. Unless there’s an accompanying work out vid that comes with it I can’t see me using something like that for even half an hour.
Looks like the kind of tech that you get out to impress your mates but the rest of the time sits there unloved.
I really would have liked the Delta Six Controller if it was able to be funded. I’m not a hardcore gamer, only play a couple hours a week, the controller seemed it would have made shooting games a lot more fun. I hope the funding starts again!
I’m looking forward to seeing what Microsoft pulls out of the bag with Nokia. I think they’re on to something solid and the current lumia’s are great.
I predict that the BIG events of 2013 will all be labeled NEXUS
A NEXUS LG TV TV – A SONY NEXUS Phone – A Samsung NEXUS – surely a MOTO NEXUS and a 4G NEXUS 7″ with an amazing Camera and 128 GB ram lol
Thats all – Thanks Goog
I look forward to see what Nokia will do next: Lumia 940?
That or the Samsung Galaxy S4!
To be honest a complete overhaul of iOS, it seems Apple have dropped the ball and there have been no drastic improvements to it in a fair while, it is the main reason I have yet to upgrade my 4s and if I am brutally honest, if they are unable to improve it sufficiently in 2013 I am going to be very tempted to go back to Android again.
I’m most looking forward to the Blackberry 10 phones, to see weather RIM will make a comeback.
I’d like a Samsung Galaxy S4 preferably without the Exynos exploit built in.
I’m looking forward to hopefully an affordable oled tv just gotta love the self lighting pixely goodness
Galaxy Note III. Gimmie that rumoured 6 inches of screen loveliness that I can lovingly caress with its super duper stylus.
Oh yeah baby. Mmmmm.
Full-fat Microsoft Surface without the RT nonsense!
Just give my phone a better battery, pretty please!
Everything is getting bigger and better aside from the battery life
Other than that, I’d like to see BB10 take the world by storm
Personally? I’m most looking forward too the new Nexus 4 – the new feature I’m really looking forward too is “In Stock”. -_-
Google glass for me
The android games console OUYA looks snazzy!!
Leap Motion. I’ve been beaten to it, but I want it more. So there.
Which ever Nexus phone comes with Key Lime Pie as that will almost certainly be my next phone (provided it comes out before August when my contract’s up). Fingers crossed Google will have sorted supply issues by then and seen fit to introduce either an SD card slot or a reasonable amount of internal memory.
surely that’s all nexus phones?
I’d love to see Lithium-air battery technology available, but that is still about 5 odd years away. What I really want for next year is the widespread adoption of wireless charging tech, and a typical standard ratified, cause I hate wires! There are quite a few methods of this on the horizon, so it’d be interesting to see which one will dominate next year.
As an aside, I’d love for more Thunderbolt peripherals to be available for cheaper. Still waiting on a cheaper version of the PCIe enclosure which is still way too expensive! Sort it out Intel/Apple!
With the apocalypse happening on Friday I’m looking forward to advances in body disposal, handheld weaponry, local area defence, portable water purification systems, and man powered electrical generation.
Looking forwards to Samsung’s supposed flexible phone. I’m not convinced phones are supposed to be that thin, let alone bendy. Curious to see how and why they implement it. My guess is actually a statically flexed screen on a curve, rather than a morph-able object.
A curved phone might work, might help them fit along the curve of your leg
I’m looking forward to my new Xperia Go … I mean I’m looking forward to seeing if my friends can make their Solar Powered Car work:
http://www.cuer.co.uk/
Also, donate a tenner and get your name on it; donate £50 and get your face on it
Next gen graphics. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have all been resting on their laurels for the past few years. The PS3 come out a whole year before even the iPhone EXISTED and the Xbox 360 2 whole years! That’s ludicrous in technological terms. The tech is essentially ancient. Imagine having a 7 year old smartphone right now. Oh that’s right smartphones didn’t even exist 7 years ago!
Sorry I didn’t actually mean to put that as a reply. I’m an idiot.
That’s alright, fancy having your name on a sexy solar powered car by any chance?

Consoles tend to need a long time to recoup the R&D costs and become profitable. With the economic climate as it is, Sony and MS have held back as long as possible in order to save money.
Now, Nintendo, they’re resting on laurels and pissing into the wind. Releasing two consoles that can just about match the previous generation is ridiculous.
Probably the next generation of Surface tablets with support for the x32 programs/games I currently have – they would be great for playing something such as Sim City.
A sensible size phone~4″ with high end performance like the SIII
I’m quite exited about the release of the nexus 4, because I’m pretty sure the current situation is just a form of viral marketing to create demand.
I’m looking forward to see what Winphone 8 devices are out around the time my contract expires in July. I love android but damn, i want a phone i won’t be tempted to keep tampering with! (Jellybam for the HTC Sensation d/l as i type!)
I’m waiting for the new phones with E Ink and LCD display options (great for saving battery when out and about),and for devices with flexible displays (if only to see what new product innovaton these displays generate). Flexible displays could be the start of new advertising and entertainment opportunities …. etc
looking forward to the blackberry 10
I am desperate for google glass. No more situations where people remain adamant that they didn’t say something that they clearly did. I would now have proof!
A 12,000 mAh battery standard.
looking forward to the new nokia lumia line. wether it be called lumia 9k+ and how windows os evolved with it and might be called windows 88 although if drawn like a square it would actually look like a windows logo.
Im looking forward to those higher than rumoured 64-core processors and flexible screens.
iPad 5, purely because I want to laugh in the faces of those who bought the iPad 4 because their iPad 3 suddenly became inferior upon release of the 4.
1. Surface pro – the RT was such a let-down.
2. Tablet Ubuntu – better than any other OS.
3. Apple’s new tv.
Unity does make more sense as a tablet OS than a desktop OS, however if an Ubuntu tablet did emerge the first thing I’d do is install Xfce.
I can’t wait to get an OUYA!
No wait, Holy balls on a stick I want a self driving car! I would totally screw with people by falling asleep at the wheel.
its much easier however to guess companies that wont surprise anyone like:
apple (more baby steps in the tech, still overly expensive, maybe a tv, absurdly expensive)
microsoft (windows 8 was as crappy as expected, i dont expect much from the next xbox)
nintendo (more overpriced accessories and shovelware games)
rim (new line of phones, theyll be solid built but no decent features again, if they dont go out of buisness first)
and finally one thing that wont happen (and ill eat my hat if it does):
any company releasing a half decent hardware qwerty keyboard android phone (ill probably still be using my desire z come this time next year)
I’d have to say the steam box. The idea of PC gaming, but on a TV, seems like a pretty good one to me.
The dual e-ink and LCD phone, just so i can have a phone with 2 screens
Scratch that I cant wait for the polariod mirrorless camera
Maybe not really a piece of technology per se but I’m really looking forward to that wp7 update since I’m in that minority who bought a lumia 800 (I know right?!). Maybe I can get a pity Xperia go?
I want to see bendy screens. I’m picturing a little camera with a pull out screen which is hidden most of the time to avoid scratches etc.
I also want more touch screens everywhere, on everything for every purpose. Like the coffee table for example! I know these things exist, but I want them in the mass market.
Microsoft and Sony teaming up to create the ultimate games console. Perhaps you could throw a little wii in there as well.
Another big one for me would be goal line technology in football, can’t believe how far behind football is compared to other sports where it has been rolled out successfully.
The playstation 4 will do nicely. And of course the iCar. A car that runs on the iOS.
The iCar would be a bad idea since it’ll insist on using Apple Maps for navigation.
I’ll not be happy with tech until it allows me to see Jesus charging around my living room on the back of a dinosaur! If 2013 can bring the Holodeck to reality, count me in (I’m looking at you XBox 720).
Have a look at the oculus rift.
I’m looking forward to Valve getting the Steambox out, bundled with it would be Half-life 2 Episode 3!
Tech wise it’d be interesting as it would be a console, but with a pc twist so pc haters and console haters will probably choke on their tongue or their brains will explode.
Have you been keeping up with the Steam for Linux project?
They reckon this will the basis of the Steambox, once they get it out of beta and start to look at console style hardware requirements.
http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/142896-valve-confirms-steam-box-coming-in-2013-says-it-will-compete-with-next-gen-consoles
Yes it would be good if they can have the Linux backbone running well. I am very interested in the final system spec though, as pc gaming rigs are now very powerful. I want to see what a mainly pc software company would want in their box that’s aimed at a 2013 release.
A new SSD at a reasonable price point
Given that a Nexus 4 is out of the question this Xmas, I would like a Birthday present of a quad-core Nexus 8 mini-tablet with 4G capability.
Google glass
I think I’d also like glasses free 3D TVs. I already wear glasses so when I watch 3D stuff I go from four eyes to six eyes.
the next flagship Lumia
I’m looking forward to the key lime pie update for my N4, and also the new BB10 and Sailfish devices, to see how those two new operating systems fair.
fuck it! I want a 15″ phone with 20 Gigapixel camera so I can go to important events and show those plebs with DSLR’s what real pro’s use these days….
also one of these:
http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2012/09/maybe-the-iphone-5-isnt-tall-enough/
Just give me a xbox 720 with really gargantuan specs, and I’ll be one happy nerd! Oh! And Half Life 3 please!!!!
The results from Jony Ive being put in charge of Human Interface at Apple!
Looking forward to seeing Apple’s exciting Apple TV plans……
I am looking forward to my virgin internet speed to be doubled I was promised last year
I look forward to edit button
Glad to see the picture still has it’s uses
I would have picked leap motion as my most anticipated piece of tech.
But then I remembered project glass!
The reason for picking project glass? Simple, the real reason it is important for porn: I present to you a different perspective on the article picture

Or I would do if i knew how to copy and paste…
http://imgur.com/70HML
A genuinely usable breakthrough in battery life or battery tech would be awesome, all these shiny gadgets are great, but I get narked with constantly having to plug them in. Certainly something I would like to see in 2013
flexible display phones
Flippin heck that radiator was hotter than she thought !!!
Oh yeah, I’m waiting for that movie too
You want to see that scene from another perspective..
http://imgur.com/70HML
The next Sony Alpha SLT to be announced/ released. I need one for filming, so better image stabilisation and slo-mo would be ideal. Oh, and I don’t want Automatic Gain Control, it creates a loud hiss when using an external microphone. Sort it out Sony!
Oh, or just the price of the Alpha A57 to drop by about £100. That would be nice too.
Google Glass for me too – or any tech so I don’t have to remember people’s names (or where I saw them last, or what their kids’ names are or where they went on holiday or what food they don’t like – how can anyone not like peas?)
I’m looking forward to touch screens that can have raised buttons.
Actually here’s the article I read it in: http://sensumco.tumblr.com/post/24885562921/dynamic-touchscreen
Some form of HUD for goggles or visors.
50 mph Audi Electric Bike!
the PS4 together with Final Fantasy Versus XIII. It’s been this long in the making already, won’t hurt to wait a little bit longer.
Square – pull your finger out…
Simply better network coverage of 4G AND Fibre Broadband in the UK. There is almost no point looking too far forward with tech advancements until the foundations are in place to use it… Everywhere.
Next galaxy product, im hoping it will able even better.
i would also like a cheaper and retina equipped ipad which i can hopefully give to my father. i feel like im spending too much money on a product that does not have the dpi at the moment.
I for one look forward to losing a limb, having it replaced by a terminator arm, then taking down a multinational conspiracy involving other cyborgs whilst decrying that i never asked for any of this.
Roll on 2013!
or the three sea shells, which ever comes first!

For me, it has to be the Leap Motion.
No latency gesture / multitouch down to the millimetre for £70? Count me in, can’t wait for what can be done with that…!
Think of getting a Wii in 2013, behind the times but happy.
Also is this posts title assuming that yo can win another if you are a previous winner of a Sony Xperia Go.
I’m so very confused.
I’m looking forward to Google Glass and the like, but only if I can get them installed on my prescription glasses somehow. It’d be great to finally have an advantage over my friends who have perfectly good eyesight.
The Leap Motion Contoller
I’m looking forward to being surprised by whatever happens to come up that hasn’t been foreseen.
Every year I look forward to something only to be disappointed that it isn’t really as great as it seems or that it just about meets expectations, whilst something that I hadn’t expected comes along and has a bigger impact, so that is now what I look forward to each year – the something new and different that will actually be interesting.
Also my Nexus 4 which is due for delivery in early Jan, and the next Galaxy S / HTC Two. Also seeing the Hobbit in HFR 3D.
Flexible OLED (maybe even AMOLED) displays are set to make an appearance on some Samsung devices next year, although I doubt it’ll be the GS-IV.
I also want to see what he fuss around these transparent OLED displays is all about.
tits.
Automatic indecent-pictures-detector software for kids’ PCs that blocks images from showing and fires off an alert to the parents.
I can’t wait for Apples Mayan phone, the end of the iPhone as we know it. Joking aside, maybe instead of a gadget, I could win a golden ticket to Stephen Fry’s house, I’m pretty sure he travels forward in time and brings things back to make us salivate.
I’d like to see the new HTC flagman. They seem to have been out of the game for a while and it’d be interesting to see them back at the top.
I’m waiting to see a lot of things.
The usual five 100mb itunes “updates”
The groundbreaking iphone6 “With fantastic features other phones had last year”
The twelve new patent cases Apple will take to court for other companies copying Apple’s most famous invention, the mobile phone.
Instagram changing their terms and conditions giving them the right to sell any of your photos for cash and you getting nothing
I’m looking forward for first time ever buying a laptop next year in 2013! It will be a great day indeed.
Been chugging along with an old desktop for a while now and I just can’t wait to get some sexy looking beast to work on!
Dat Nexus 4 or the Lumia 620 depending on the new years tomfoolery.
Im looking forward to an Apple TV, no not the one thats out now but not to buy just to see if Apple still have their mojo and can make some thats out and not too exciting into something amazing. It’ll be a tough one
.
Id love to have a go on a 4K TV on a 4K console Xbox 720 or PS4?
My very own Cheesoid

Flexible Display Samsung Tabs !!
I kinda wanna try out Google’s Ingress Augmented Reality game.
I would like 48fps to be the standard in cinemas.
I’m very curious to see what new features and UI changes that Android Keylime Pie. Android seems to be really overtaking the competition now that its refining the UI as well as its functionality.
the devise coming from the 5th dimension patent that Apple has submitted..
Google Glass. Why?……. TAKE MY MONEY!
Colour e-ink
Many people will be waiting for LTE (4G) to come out on more than one provider. A phone that accepts that will sell like hot cakes (maybe a Nexus 5 or an Galaxy SIV), but we are probably going to be waiting till June for that.
I would love to see 3D in a phone (like a 3DS) with some real content. Not films really, but perhaps a game that utilises 3D spacial awarenedd – something that will lead the way to 3D being used for information rather than just entertainment.
I thought LG already made a phone with a 3D screen?
Arrived last year.

I hope the Leap Motion really does come out next year that and the pebble

I am looking forward to the advanced in 3D printing such as the Formlabs printer
The rumored Amazon Smartphone! And it’s tiny price!
Any device that will allow for instantaneous audio language translation to be heard on both ends of the conversation optional.
I would like to see waterproof phones and tablets to come out but what i would love to have a go /have is an E-Rockit pedal powered bike capable of going 50 mph, invented by Stefan Gulas in Germany !!
First of all, thanks for not spelling Crimbo as “Chrimbo” cause it drives me insane.
Secondly, I think what I’m most looking forward to is the direction tablets take. Hoping Apple will make another ground breaking stride (even though they probably won’t).
As an alternative, I would like to see somebody create one of these.

Definitely whatever hardware Valve may have tucked away, steam console anyone?
I am looking forward to Samsung Galaxy S4 to finally lure me away from my iPhone addiction
I am really looking forward to the Oculus Rift next year and how practical it is in real life, and its potential uses outside gaming (3D Graphic design?)
Im going to stand outside the box and say Blackberry 10….
Just kidding
Does this still count as an entry? If not Im looking forward to hopefully apps on the apple tv and the apple HDTV, although I think I might have to sell a kidney or something so I can afford one!
I’m looking forward to being surprised by some dark horse of a gadget that I’ve not heard of yet. It’s been a while since a product launch wasn’t ruined by the internet in advance and it’d be quite nice to exist in blissful ignorance for a few months prior to something truly innovative being released.
The Oculus Rift I am hoping will make an appearance next year, I am really hoping it takes off. If someone comes up with a “steam box” standard and gets the advertising right combined with the rift I think it will really change gaming.
Finally seeing some of the more esoteric display technologies from samsung and the like hitting the market would also be nice, but I don’t hold out that much hope.
I am excited about seeing the new Ouya console. It should be interesting to see what could be made by people and what future success stories could come from it. We’ll soon find out.
Definitely wireless charging accessories for all types of mobile gadget.

The leap motion- not long to wait now. And for once it isn’t going to be crazy expensive to own the 1st gen model
Samsung smartphones with unbreakable display
I’d like to see Galaxy Tab new version and how it wards off Apples challenge and gives consumers value for money
