Rockstar’s just released some screens from its port of GTA: Vice City for the iPhone and Android, and yep, it looks just as awesome as I remember. In fact, it’s actually better than we remember, because Rockstar’s given it a makeover.
For its 10th anniversary, the coders have worked their magic with updated character models and lighting effects, which you can see in the screen shots. Rockstar’s also enhanced the targeting and firing controls, so they should be well suited for the touchscreen. It’ll be out on Thursday, right in time to block out drunken uncle Frank with gunfire and tyre screeching on Christmas day. [Rockstar]

Awesome, I love GTA3 on iPad but I’ve been stuck on a mission for ages!

Where you have to drive around in a van picking them up?
Think Ive done those too, Im stuck on smashing the drug stalls, I cant find them all!

1st Island one? I blocked off the entrance to the boat on that on to stop him running up and it was easy.
The RC helicopter mission is going to be a NIGHTMARE
Oddly enough I actually did that mission last night as I have been playing the PC copy of it (still got the promo stickers in the original box!) after completing GTA3 recently. This is me trying to move through the series as I have not gone through much of GTA:SA and I have not even started GTA4.
I couldn’t even do that on the Mac App store version of the game. Had to buy a mouse just so I don’t use the track pad. That takes some serious skill that mission.
I’ve been waiting for this for ages! It’s going to be amazing! Vice city is by far my favourite GTA! And after how good GTA3 was on iOS I can’t wait for this!
Alex, do people still use pc’s for gaming haha?
I only got into GTA starting with San Andreas, is the Vice City in Vice City the same areas and designed the same as the Vice City in Vice City Stories?

Out of interest, Ive never anticipated a app store release before, what sort of time will this be out? Will it be there from midnight or will it arrive in the app store when ever they get round to it?
