A Samsung roadmap for the first half of 2013 has been spotted, showing us at least five new models from its forthcoming Android range. Some we know, some we don’t.
According to leaked documents stuck online by Technobuffalo, we can expect to see the already mentioned Galaxy Note 8.0 joined by the “entry-level” 3″ Galaxy Young, plus the even more, er, “affordable” Galaxy Pocket Plus, a super-cheap model that’ll arrive with a 2.8″ display and an 850Mhz single-core processor. That’s your £49.99 model for the ASDA mums.
There will also be a Galaxy X Cover 2, an updated version of the outdoorsy smartphone with IP ratings for dust and waterproofing, plus the Galaxy Grand, an odd 5″ machine with a low-end 800 x 480 resolution display.
No mention is made of the Galaxy S4. Presumably that’s important enough to get a PowerPoint document all to itself. New reports claim that the 2013 Galaxy S series update is currently being developed under the code name “Altius” and is being prepped for a reveal at Mobile World Congress this February, or a little later at a Samsung event in March.

so they’re cutting back the amount of phones they’re releasing then
Nice range of phones. I like it when phones are targeted at certain people/groups. People know exactly what they want from a phone and Samsung seems to give great options.
After having an iPhone since 2008 I was reluctant to jump ship to Android, but the Note 2 I have now is a lovely phone. I could be quite tempted by an 8″ Note to replace my aging iPad.
Still waiting to be able to get a Nexus 4, and it’s looking like Samsung are going to beat any restock by announcing the next “must have” in the S4 anyway.
What a criminal waste of an excellent product, Google. You’ve completely blown this one.
Yeah, this was learning the hard way for Google in terms of stock. At least they’ll release the next iteration with sufficient supply (hopefully)
I must admit, I’m loving my N4
Yeah same here, I totally love it. There’s nothing it can’t do really.
Anybody with half a brain could have forseen the Nexus 4 would be the deal of the century when compared to other smartphones, so I refuse to believe Google simply underestimated demand.
I think it’s most likely Google themselves didn’t want to be an overwhelming threat to other phone manufacturers who’s phones also run Android, so decided to sell a limited amount.
I am getting pretty fed up with the iphone at the minute and am waiting to see what samsung have to offer with the galaxy s4.
But i gotta say i wish they would stop calling all there phones “Galaxies” they should of kept that name simply for there higher end mobiles.
