What you’re looking at here is the first official still released from the Wikileaks movie, The Fifth Estate, with Sherlock himself portraying the embassy camper. There’s quite the resemblance to a younger Assange here. He certainly looks creepy enough.
Apparently no one knows when the Wikileaks film will finally make it to our cinema screens. Maybe it’ll get leaked in sections, in with a mass dump of similar movies, all linked to some kind of movie studio conspiracy to fake weapons of mass destruction, or something. Anyway, with Cumberbatch in it, count me in. [Business Wire via TotalFilm]

Julian Assange and Wikileaks are Officially "Enemies" of the US Military
Will You Read Julian Assange's New Book?
Julian Assange to Appear on The Simpsons
Was John Inman not available?
Haha
Count me in too!
I don’t know what is more creepy in the image, Cumberbatch’s hair or the beard on the other guy. Both look very fake and very, very odd.
It’s the hair, it’s horrific!
I just combined the hair with the beard. Ignore the shoddiness.

Ha! Brilliant
Oh jesus, this film is gonna be funny
Apparently the real Julian Assange is a bit pissy about the screenplay
and what it is attempting to portray.
‘…Assange on Wednesday night said WikiLeaks had managed to get hold of a copy of the script of the DreamWorks movie.
And he doesn’t like what he’s read…”

Is the guy on the right the guy from The Edukators?
And what’s the deal with this Cumberbatch fella, everyone seems enamoured with him. I didn’t see Sherlock, but have seen Tinker Tailor et al and I didn’t think “Crikey, this guy’s good” (it was more “My, that’s a strange face”); am I missing something?
Sherlock is well worth watching imho
Yeah it’s been recommended to me, and I’m sure I’d enjoy it, but then someone said “You’ve got to watch it”, and my stubbornness kicked in and now I don’t want to, no matter how good it is.
Stupid? Yes; my 6 year boycott of the brilliant The Wire can attest to that.
The Wire & The Shield are both worth watching in my opinion
Jesus yeah. I stumbled onto The Shield when it was being repeated on late night TV sometime, and I felt like I’d found a tenner on the street.
You watched any Treme? Or Generation Kill? Seeing Lester Freeman as a Mardi Gras indian; (manly) swoon.
You definitely should NOT watch anything anyone recommends to you uh uh, No Way…
He’s just flavour of the month. Think he’s a good character actor though. But you’re right, a strange face indeed.
Maybe that’s it, the character actor thing (as I said I’ve only seen him in Tinker Tailor). Looks like you’re right about the flavour of the month thing, his acting plate seems to be mighty full. He’s like Tom Hardy 4-5 years ago.
Didn’t the guy on the right play Frederick Zoller in Inglourious Basterds as well? Swear I recognise him…
Yes! that was bugging me. Couldn’t put name to face; http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0117709/
They both look like they’d share the same interests as Jimmy Saville.
Too soon I think.
Oh, Julian…
You mean gold jewellery, cigars, charity work and running Marathons? Cant think of anything else.
nice to see at least one mind isn’t in the gutter
We are all in the gutter my friend, but some of us are looking at the stars
I bet the kids were thinking that too!
Now that’s worse than my original comment
Now then!
Well the view from the stars must be a bit crap then!
Looks really interesting, god the Man can play anything!
Wait a minute, IMDB is reporting a title change – instead of ‘The Fifth Estate’ it’s ‘The Man Who Sold the World’
I think it’s changed once before that too. Looks like they can’t make their bloody minds up.
Next change “Are you being served – with a subpoena”
