Embraced by cash-strapped uni students and young professionals struggling to scratch a living out of this cruel world, Ramen noodles have gotten a bad rap as being a depressing last resort option for a cheap and lonely meal. But that reputation could easily be undone with this brilliant Anti-loneliness bowl that makes it easy to surf or have a FaceTime conversation while you enjoy your noodles.
Designed by Daisuke Nagatomo and Jan Minnie of MisoSoupDesign, the bowl also doubles as a passive amplifier for your phone’s speaker when it’s empty, making it possibly one of the most useful smartphone accessories ever devised. You’ll of course want to strongly consider a screen protector if you vigorously slurp your noodles, but hold off until we get the official word on whether or not the anti-loneliness bowl is actually going into production. If anything, I think this would add to the feeling of loneliness, rather than dispelling it.
If it held the phone in landscape mode, you could watch a depressing drama whilst eating your depressing noodles.
WHAT ON HOLY MOTHER EARTH ARE RAMEN NOODLES?
Count to ten, and… relax.
Er, dried noodles, kinda like SupaNoodles, or a block of pot noodle, I saw them on Man V Food, or How It’s Made, whatever.
Up at 4:29am, shouting about noodles, did you have a lot of coffee last night?
“cash-strapped uni students”
Who can also afford an iPhone with an expensive monthly contract, and enough money to buy this bowl.
But still lives off ramen noodles. (Which by the way, is a stereotype and hardly anyone eats them in UK unis on a regular basis)
Hum I don’t know, I’ve been known to enjoy quite few noodles in my time at uni, though not become of money issue, just caus’ they are so supa tastayyyy
…
And awesome for those lazy winter nights
You serious? All my friends recall “fond” memories of living off nothing BUT Super Noodles (and baked beans)!
Anyone know if you can use this bowl with Curry flavoured Super Noodles as well?
looks like a loo to me!
Slurp noodles, wipe screen. Repeat.
