Last night the world held its collective breath as RIM BlackBerry took its sweet arse time trotting out the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 and amidst all the shenanigans, the company formerly known as RIM managed to show off a few notable new BB10 features, too. In case you missed all the live coverage last night, you can find everything and anything related to BlackBerry 10 below.
BlackBerry 10 Launch: Everything You Need to Know
Well, here goes. RIM announced its new BlackBerry 10 OS and hardware yesterday. This could be the launch that gets RIM back in the game for smartphones. Or it could be the last time BlackBerry is relevant. It’s a big moment. [More]
This is the New Blackberry Z10
Here it is. It’s the new Blackberry 10. It’s official, it looks exactly like the leaked photos and the renders we published. [More]
RIM is Dead, Long Live BlackBerry
Starting now, RIM is rebranding itself as BlackBerry. With the official name change, you can say so long to all your RIM-related innuendo. [More]
BlackBerry Q10: The Next Generation QWERTY Beast
Blackberry’s QWERTY handset for Blackberry 10 is here. Launched last night, BB10 does away with a lot of baggage that has been holding the company back, but the QWERTY keyboard is here to stay. This slim, lightweight phone is its future. [More]
How the BlackBerry Z10 Stacks Up to the Competition
Q10′s physical keyboard may be the most notable feature in the new lineup, but the Z10 is BlackBerry’s best shot at taking a share of the more prominent (at least for now), touchscreen market. So can the Z10 measure up to some of the its biggest contenders? [More]
BlackBerry Q10 Hands On: We Missed You, QWERTY
The BlackBerry Z10 might be the prom queen of the BB10 launch, but the Q10 and its physical keyboard is what a lot of people are actually waiting for. “Will I still be able to have a BlackBerry like my BlackBerry after this?” Sure, just better. [More]
BlackBerry’s Most Important Phone Isn’t Its Flagship
BlackBerry announced two phones last night, but it’s clear which is the favourite son. The Z10 looks like a winner; it’s got brains and body enough to face the iPhones and Galaxy S IIIs of the world head-on. It’s got a release date and a price. It’s a phone any company would be proud to call a flagship. In fact, its only downside is that it’s totally irrelevant. Whoops! [More]
BlackBerry’s Best Trick: Nailing Work-Life Balance
Today BlackBerry demoed what it’s calling BlackBerry Balance, a clever way of separating one’s personal and work lives in one device. You don’t see it as much these days but carrying two phones — one for business, one for pleasure — was commonplace not too long ago. I remember having a BlackBerry 6200 alongside my Sidekick 2; and I’m sure a lot of you remember those days as well. [More]
BlackBerry Z10 Camera: The Worst Low-Light Performance We’ve Seen in a Long Time
For the old BlackBerry, a handset’s camera was an ancillary feature. But the new hip BlackBerry is supposed to be tuned into how regular people — not just suits — use their phones. The BlackBerry Z10′s camera has a chance to prove it’s better than the rest. And if our initial low-light camera test is any indication, the camera is a complete failure. [More]
Yes, the BlackBerry Z10 Is 4G in the UK, But There’s a Problem
So, BlackBerry’s finally pushed a new flagship out, and like any good flagship phone it’s packing LTE. In fact, it’s available on 4G right now, thanks to EE. The most interesting thing, however, is it’ll also potentially support the other UK networks’ 4G — Vodafone calls it “4G-ready” — but, there’s one small issue: Only one of our UK 4G auction bands is actually supported. BlackBerry 10 Launch: Everything You Need To Know
BlackBerry London to Be First BBX BlackBerry?
Is This BlackBerry's QWERTY Savior?
Can’t … decide … which one … !
Aaarghhh!
Well, if you want it now, you’ve only got a choice of one. The Q10 seems to be delayed for at least a month.
You’re a Psiren, calling me to the rocks!
I might have been impressed if it was 2009
I’d be totally speechless if it was 1999.
If it was 1999 I’d be worrying about all dying in the Millennium year
Don’t worry. Dates with a bunch of ’0′ have no special significance, it is made up number based on the life of an alleged historic character.
And a wise man once said, only an egotist would believe a planet, some 4.5billion years old, will end in their own 75 years life span.
We need more apps from BlackBerry, they can’t compete head to head with iOS and Android now. Especially with the new accessories for QuantifiedSelf, mobile Health … connecting via Bluetooth. We use our smartphones for much more than calling, so apps become critical to convince users to adopt a device instead of another. We have no accessory yet for BB on our web site. Anybody from BB reading this ? Please contact us !

I company only needs a few thousand quality apps to please people, 99% of apps are useless shite or retarded games. I think quality is more important than quantity. Once you cover the basics everything else is fluff.
yes of course, you have a point here quality is a must, but choice is what drives most people in selecting something in the first place. Is there a good Top100 ranking of iOS and Android apps we could send for BB to consider ?
“…but choice is what drives most people in selecting something in the first place. Is there a good Top100 ranking of iOS and Android apps we could send for BB to consider ?”
Well in the UK figures suggest opposite to that, I was reading a iPhone article the other day that said 81% of iPhone users don’t go beyond the top 50 apps, some 57% don’t go beyond the top 25. So the whole number of apps thing is stupid as 50 apps serve 80% of iPhone users needs, the rest is fluff. So making a list of the Top 100 would mean asking 19% of users what the other 50 best apps are, and that is going to be all over the place, very niche. But this would be different with other OS devices, the ones that are free thinking and not iSheepish. But it gives us a good figure on the numbers of iSheep – 81% to be precise.
“The vast majority (81%) of Apple iPhone users in the UK wont go past the first 50 apps in the iTunes store when seeking something new to download, claims a report by Surikate.”
http://www.iphoneeinstein.com/2013/01/22/majority-of-uk-iphone-users-blind-to-apps-deeper-than-the-top-50/
Then according to you a lot of people are wrong developping over 775.000 apps for iPhone platform ? And BB just need 50 apps ?
Adoption of apps not ranked in top 50 or top 100 is driven not by app ranking but by user specific needs and sometimes accessories. Not every user will have the same need for non generic apps. Eco system starts playing a bigger role in smartphone selection (we see the increasing space given to such accessories in Apple stores …and none of related apps ranks in the top 50).
Really considering getting that Z10. Got a Galaxy S2 just now and thinking about a Nexus 4 as well but, just fancy a change for the sake of a change. Stupid?
It is either very brave or really stupid – maybe a bit of both.
But if that S2 is in good condition then that would cover the majority of a Nexus 4 buy, seriously out of pocket on a Z10 deal with added unknowns.
I think you know what you need to do here.
Your meaning WP8 right?!
Yeah I hear you. Nexus 4 is calling my name.
Depends what you like really, If you like the S2 and like Android why not go for another Samsung device or at least stay with Android.
I’m sure there will be a few problems with this new operating system for Blackberry as with any new release but Android is stable and growing stupidly fast. If I was choosing I’d go for the Nexus4.
Yeah I like the thought of having pure Android where it updates quick rather than having to wait months for Samsung’s version of things. I’m thinking my mind is beginning to be made up here!
That is one thing I love about my Nexus 7, one day you read about a OS update, the next minute my Nexus is asking for confirmation to download that update.
My phone is a year old Sony, I got it because it was about to get a major OS update. Some versions of the phone, same model number on varies networks, have had the update 6 months ago or more. I’m still waiting, probably never will happen now, thinking of a modding myself.
If I ever get another Android phone, I will seriously think Nexus 1st.
BB is trying to compete in a market dominated by Android and Apple (and WP the rising star)
What they should had done is retain their business customers by giving better deals, better security and I still know many Managers would still prefer a good built smartphone with keyboard and secure connection that doesn’t last when you drop them on floor or splash morning coffee on it.
They could had completely dominate and retain that market gap.
well, I’ve just ordered myself a white Z10 and a free PlayBook … can’t wait for it to arrive
Been playing with a z10 in white all day, so i thought i’d give ppl a little feedback on things that have annoyed me so far. I really don’t understand why these two omission have been left out of BB 10. Hopefully there’s a setting I haven’t discovered that will sort both of these out (please please tell if there is)
1) When a new notification comes through, the hub should go back to the overall message view and not where you last left it. This results in “peek” being a bit useless if you left the hub viewing a different message the last time you used it.
2) you can’t hang-up using one of the physical buttons, i.e the power button or the centre volume rocker button.
Apart from these two gripes, the phone is really nice, and in my humble opinion, better that iphone 5, but I do really miss the screen estate of my Galaxy Note.
