If you grew up in the 1980s playing with Fisher-Price’s now iconic Little People Barnyard Playset (remember the mooing sound effect when you opened the barn door?) prepare to be just a little saddened at the company’s modernised version of it.
Tiny fields of imaginary wheat have been replaced with an iPad dock and the Little People Apptivity Barnyard companion app. Available sometime this Autumn, the playset still includes a handful of Little People characters and animals, but they’ve been ‘enhanced’ with capacitive nubs on the bottom allowing them to interact with the iPad’s touchscreen display. Admittedly some of the mini-games were kind of fun, particularly recklessly tearing around the farm with the little tractor, but it’s hard not to be nostalgic of a time when kids just relied on their imaginations.

The Future of Farming Is Brain-Dead Chickens?
“this fall” No, no ,no, no, no.
Sorry; as you know, we had our hands full last week with CES, so more mistakes than usual managed to creep through. I’ve corrected this one, but as ever, please feel free to email me on kat.hannaford[at]futurenet.com if you ever see anything you feel needs correcting.
It’s the far better approach than being an arse in the comments, as you’ve been doing with increasing frequency recently.
Fair enough, ill try and cut down on the moaning.
… I can still moan about Diaz, right?
Only where warranted. Though I’d prefer for you to email me, so I can make the necessary corrections. Don’t forget we’re trying to build a positive commenting community here, and if a newbie sees you constantly moaning and bitching, that’s just going to encourage more trolls to rear their ugly heads.
