It’ll now search your email for flight confirmations and grab your boarding passes, plus fire flight notifications at you. Currently it only supports certain airlines, but it’s expanding rapidly. There is no “war” between Google Now and Passbook.
Yes there is! A war, that emulates the battle between good and evil, Blu-ray and HD DVD, Betamax and VHS. Who will win? No body knows!

If there is a “war”, given Passbook uses an open format for passes that Android apps already read there’s not much of contest to have.
I’m relatively new to Android and can’t say I have used Google Now much at all apart from asking it to navigate to a destination and checking the weather. What are other using it most for at the moment?
It’s not really about being used it’s purpose is an organiser of sort and notifier for example I searched the address of natwest yesterday google now using mys search history notified me about how far it was and what the current traffic is like. The same for cinema listings. Football matches etc
Call me old-fashioned (I’m 21 btw) but I’m still amazed at the fact I search for a postcode on my computer, head out and Google now has a card ready and waiting with all the navigation details. Colour me impressed
