Hacker Taunts Police With Message Taped to a Cat

By Gary Cutlack on at

A hacker wanted in Japan for various crimes against computers has been amusing himself playing games with the local police, culminating in a bizarre stunt where he attached a memory card to a cat's collar.

The hacker, known as Enkaku, had been emailing newspapers and TV stations with a series of riddles, which were said to contain information about a computer virus that's been plaguing the country. Once solved, the riddles led to a cat on a small island south of Tokyo. The above video shows the moment code-cracking reporters apprehended the feline.

The contents of the cat's memory card have yet to be revealed. Probably just its MP3 collection and some rips of Takeshi's Castle. [Gawker]
