Microsoft Surface Gets Jailbroken, Only to Run Mac OS

By Sam Gibbs on at

Microsoft's iron grip over what can and can't run on the Surface RT has been broken. Now you can turn the Surface into the iPad we've always wanted, running full-blown Mac OS.

Well, that's technically an experimental version of Mac OS called Rhapsody, which was pushed out way back in 1997, running in an emulator. But hell, it's a start, right? Hopefully we'll see things like Chrome, iTunes, and, errr, Photoshop ported over. Although, something tells me porting x86 to ARM for something like Adobe's beast would be a tad ambitious for even the hacker kings of XDA. [XDA, Twitter via Geek]
