Microsoft’s iron grip over what can and can’t run on the Surface RT has been broken. Now you can turn the Surface into the iPad we’ve always wanted, running full-blown Mac OS.
Well, that’s technically an experimental version of Mac OS called Rhapsody, which was pushed out way back in 1997, running in an emulator. But hell, it’s a start, right? Hopefully we’ll see things like Chrome, iTunes, and, errr, Photoshop ported over. Although, something tells me porting x86 to ARM for something like Adobe’s beast would be a tad ambitious for even the hacker kings of XDA. [XDA, Twitter via Geek]

A proper Hackintosh install of OSX on a Surface RT would be of far greater interest.
In fact, it should be easy as pie since there are VMWare images of Mountain Lion about. What would be interesting is what can be done with the touchscreen?
On a Surface Pro, I should say.
For the touchscreen; something similar to the Modbook, I think. I always found the Modbook fascinating; http://www.modbook.com/
At that price it should be called The Tw*tbook.
Why? They have to go out and purchase a MacBook Pro at full price.
They then have to manufacture all the different bits, on a lot smaller runs than most PC makers.
It then needs the pen interface adding.
Someone then needs to build it and package it etc…
Packaging needs printing.
Cost of delivery.
Costs of running business.
$2000 on top, Lol. You should but 576,293 of them.
I would love proper osx on a tablet device.
See Modbook – won’t get cheaper than that, sorry
Pretty neat, if I remember right there are jailbreak emulators for old Windows OS’ed on ipad right?
Windows 3.1 ipads all the way!
