If you’re an Orange customer (the phone network not the skin tone) you might well be an avid fan of their Orange Wednesdays scheme, which allows you to get two cinema tickets for the price of one.
The main problem with it all seems to be that a certain amount of queuing is involved at the cinema of your choice in order to get your discounted admission. But not any more – at least not at Odeon cinemas. As of now, they have leapt into the 21st century and will henceforth allow Orange Wednesdays customers to book their tickets ONLINE in advance! Great work Odeon – perhaps their rival cinema chains will follow their example and do the same.

Spotify Announcing Something Next Wednesday 30th November
Orange Wednesdays are good but could turn out to be expensive if you are watching every week. Cineworld Unlimited card for only £15 is the best deal.
If you live near a Cineworld cinema, unlike me
I share in your pain, my friend.
Truth be told I’m not that fussed, don’t like the cinema too much, uncomfortable seats, can’t pause, etc…
The occasional times I have been to a Cineworld (when I’ve been visiting friends, family etc.) have actually been quite pleasant; they have (or at least the ones I’ve been to, I assume they’re all relatively similar?) high backed, comfortable seating with plenty of leg room. Being unable to pause I agree with though, especially on longer films!
If you do go to Cineworld, just avoid the O2 venue as it has the dumbest ticketing system where they sell the tickets and the snacks at the same till.
Add to this mix how indecisive some lemmings are when it comes to ordering snacks…
Oh and the people running that branch blows.
Which is bizarre as the Cineworld nearest me is great, nice staff, fast service and decent seats and projectors.
Ah, well I haven’t had that problem before – the Cineworld’s I’ve been to have sold them separately, thankfully. The bonus is, though, that in some (not sure if it’s all?) Cineworlds, it’s actually cheaper to book your ticket online than it is to go in and buy it. Whilst that’s probably not as good if you have the CU card, it’s good for both saving costs on occasional visits and saving time queuing.
I concur. Plus you are not bound to only watch on Wednesdays where droves of orange Wednesday people come after work! I normally have Fridays off so can take a trip to catch a few movies on the day.
A side bonus is that the Orange Wednesday deal works with the Cineworld Unlimited card meaning you just need one CU card and an orange code. So that’s £15 a month plus the 10p per text for the code for two people.
That’s £3.85 for two people (or £1.93 per person) to watch a movie on Wednesdays every week.
I’ll still go to my local independent thanks.
My local independent has just announced that you can book online with Orange Wednesdays. Good on them!
