A new set of pictures, purporting to be official press images of BlackBerry’s new Z10 handset, have popped up on the internet courtesy of @evleaks.
While a pinch of salt is still required, these match up remarkably well with previously leaked photographs of a switched-off device, that appeared back in December. That suggests that you probably are looking at the phone that RIM hopes will save it.
And you know what? It’s kinda nice. Nothing outrageously amazing, sure, but it’s neat, sleek, and still retains that air of BlackBerry too. Given that the company’s new OS, BB10, seems to be surprisingly OK, there may still be a chance for RIM yet. It’s only concern now is whether it can manage to leverage sales when it’s so late to the party. Let’s wait and see. [@evleaks]

How the Blackberry Z10 Stacks Up to the Competition
Too much Bezel and I hate how dominant the logo is on the front. They coulda chopped off the top and bottom to where the cam/sensor is and the logo is at the bottom. Then removed the logo and had buttons…
Nearly as bad as that Nokia 920 phone that has like an inch bezel either way lol.
not really, when you consider the bezel is the all-important part of the OS navigation
I know what you mean about the bezel, I quite like the look of it overall, but I cant help thinking its going to be just like any other blackberry.. better for wiping your arse with than using as a phone!
I imagine BB’s with keys would be better for that, the shits just going to slide off this.
You do realise there are speakers, microphones and other important bits in those “bezel” areas? Also if you had no bezel holding the phone securely without touching the screen is impossible.
He’s not saying there should be no bezel at all. That would just be silly/impossible with today’s technology. He’s saying they didn’t need to make the Blackberry logo so utterly huge (it just makes it easier for people to spot you made a poor phone choice, again) and have such a large bezel. It just makes the screen look small.
Do not want
I actually like it – I’ll stick with my Note II, but I know people who use Blackberry’s who will like this.
It looks too much like the Storm and i’ll never touch a BB again after the nightmare 18 months i had to endure with a storm 2. I’m sure the keyboard handsets are perfectly usable but i couldn’t bring myself to go there
