If you’ve ever tried to frustratingly juggle your phone and umbrella like some hapless idiot in an infomercial, you can rest assured there’s at least one other person who’s been in the same situation. But instead of grumbling about it, they went and created the Brolly: an umbrella with a redesigned handle that makes it easier to text in a downpour.
And it’s not like its creator has just tacked a smartphone dock onto an umbrella or anything like that. The £15 Brolly’s handle has simply been enhanced with a beefier grip and finger holes letting you securely hold even a wind-blasted umbrella with one hand, leaving the other to post tweets lamenting about the weather, or Instagram shots showing how soaked your shoes are. Is this not just a re purposed knuckle duster?
Looks like it to me.
That’s a good thing. If someone tries to take you phone, smash their face in.
I could totally get on board with that
Thought you might
That’s what I thought also.
Great, it’s already annoying as hell having to swerve around people on pavements who have abdicated all responsibility for looking where they’re going whilst tit-arsing about with their phones, now they can be just as selfish when it rains.
I have trouble enough keeping my eyes in my face on a rainy day in London, my eyes being at the exact height for most umbrella spokes or ‘eye gouging spears of blindness’as I have come to know them.
Oh Sweet Jesus Christ, I mean this is as more redundant than that man who developed the nose stylus for the touchscreen phones in order to be able to use it in the loo.
What was he doing with his other hand?
Wiping his arse, presumably.
Well that really IS non-stop phone action. Poor guy.
There are a great many things a man may do in the loo.
Where have you been all my life.
Erm, what? Really?? This is a thing that is needed in the world? Who needs two hands to hold a brolly, or two hands to send a text? If the texting in any weather is that great a deal for you then buy a water resistant phone or case. If not, just wait until you get somewhere dry to send that oh so important text/tweet/instagram update.
