Good news for your brittle bird bones—Nokia is apparently working on a new batch of Lumias for 2013, and they’re supposed to be much lighter.
Apparently the next-gen Windows Phones will ditch the current polycarbonate build for an all aluminium body, making it lighter and thinner. Codenamed Catwalk, the device is said to be the followup to the Lumia 920, which at 185 grams is heavy as hell. Nokia wouldn’t chat up more slender Lumias, telling us: “Per company policy, we don’t comment on market rumours or speculation.”
I’m all for lighter aLUMIAnums, sheerly for the wordplay possibilities. And also because of these insufferable T-Rex arms. [The Verge]

Here’s a better idea, make them lighter, then fit a bigger battery – result, a phone that weighs the same but lasts for much longer.
The Lumia is a few grams heavier than my old HTC Desire HD, which I never had a problem with. Let’s face it, it’s not THAT heavy.
Admittedly I am an incredibly strong male so lifting phones has never been a problem for me.
I thought it was just one phone that was rumoured to be aluminium?
