Microsoft announced its latest set of financial numbers last night, with Windows 8 helping the company’s Windows division to record a 24 per cent increase in profits.
Overall profit was down some 3.7 per cent across all of Microsoft’s hardware and software efforts, mind, although it managed to record its highest ever revenue in the last quarter of 2012, pulling in some £13.5bn thanks to a mixture of W8 upgrades and business sales. So it’s doing OK.
No mention was made of sales of Surface tablets. [Microsoft]
