When you’re swooshing through the fresh powder in your secret backcounty ski spot, the last thing you want is a heavy pack strapped to your back. But you also don’t want to venture into the wilderness without the proper supplies. So the next time you hit the distant slopes, consider Dakine’s capacious new BC Vest as an alternative to your backpack.
At less than two pounds when empty, it seemingly strikes the perfect balance between bulk and capacity, letting you carry everything from a light lunch, to serious emergency gear like a snow shovel, radio, and a hydration pack. Pricing and availability aren’t known just yet, but if it’s reasonable it could also be a fantastic solution for commuters who have to deal with overcrowded subway cars every morning. I’ll be Whistler.
Now go hunt those sparkly Twilight vamps!
Also skip any possibility of aprés sex
This is what it reminds me of

How do you get to the gear at the back?
Take the vest off, open the vest, put the vest back on again
Kind of like with backpacks now!
Didn’t want to imply that I think this is a good idea though. It looks like shit.
now I snowboard and I know for a fact even the best back country skier and snowboarders are prone to falling. Now would it not hurt a lot if you had a sharp metal shovel strap to your back when you did take a tumble.
Seems a bit more awkward than a backpack seeing as you’d have to remove your warmth giving vest to retrieve anything.
And whilst you wear one, you become like a mr potato head with the back compartment (plus imagine having something hard in it and falling on your back, hope it would have some serious padding)
Hmmm, me thinks Ryanair passengers would appreciate this the most.
