I’ve always hated BlackBerry phones. Disgracefully ugly bricks they were—until BlackBerry 10. If the RIM’s new flagship Z10 device really looks like this—and apparently it does—and if the OS is as nice as it seemed at CES, I will totally snatch one up.
These BlackBerry Z10 vs iPhone 5 comparative renders by our friend Martin Hajek are amazing. Not only because they show off just how beautiful a phone RIM has built, but because they demonstrate why we should still care about BlackBerry. With hardware as lovely as this, it may still have a chance at coming back with a vengeance.
The comparative images were made by Martin using leaked physical data and pictures which are believed to be the real thing. I love that is has zero buttons. It does it all through the screen’s touch abilities, and that’s all you need.
Also, check out the renders for the N10—RIM’s new model for the keyboard diehards—at the end. You can download Martin’s amazing 3D models here.

This Is the New BlackBerry Z10
BlackBerry Z10 Review: Not Good Enough
BlackBerry Z10 Named as First BB10 Hardware
it could stand in the HTC world as a contender.. but Apple could make the iPhone6 the biggest load of crap ever and it would still have a queue round the bend of skinny jeans and “geek” glasses with no glass in them..
yeah, i can’t stand those people who where prescription-less glasses because they think it makes them look cute or geeky.
and those girls who wear tights as a replacement for trousers.
“those girls who wear tights as a replacement for trousers” now that should be encouraged
No TOPS.. because of the way girls think about the way they dress due to the constant pressure smashed in their face by glossy mags, it means that cute, hot, pretty and nice girls who we, as dirty men, would love to see in tights never do this and girls who prefer to shop at KFC and give hand jobs for crack do, do this.. meaning it should be banned!
I have no problem with cute girls that do that
It’s just when you talk to them that it all breaks down.
i also cant stand blokes who wear skinny jeans or shoes (not decks or trainers etc.. but like leather smart shoes) with no socks
I pity those fools! Btw skinny jeans are bad news for heath too
The term you were looking for was ‘Dirty, smelly hipsters’
You must have come up with that insult all by yourself, you cutting-edge individual you.
No, think that is the recognized term for them. That or Shoreditch resident.
“I don’t like what they wear or do, therefore …hipster!” that’s what I tend to get when that phrase is bandied around.
I’ve been a 4 eyes since i was a nipper, I’d love to have 20-20 vision but after so long wearing specs I couldn’t be without them.
I’m thinking of getting corrective surgery but I’d still wear frames with plain glass in them.
on point though.. it does look good!!
It was hotter, then it was turned over to reveal a blank background with a giant Blackberry logo on it
Also i’d prefer Vanilla Android
The back looks absolute shite on all Blackberries.
It’s a render. Seems like they struggled with that texture.
No, I’m not talking about the render, I’m talking about real Blackberries.
We’ll just have to wait and see but I’ll guaranty it’ll be much nicer than that render. I wouldn’t mind something akin to the back of the N7 but with a little more quality to it. The N7 feels nice but maybe just a little cheap (which it is, of course!).
Sorry, perhaps I didn’t make myself clear, I meant real, already released Blackberries. And the texture on that render is the same as on those.
Comparing last years iPhone with a yet to be released BlackBerry, I do not see the point. Comparing a real world product with some renders, why even bother?
The BlackBerry looks like an evolution from the BlackBerry Porsche, which was itself a rip off given you were paying a massive premium for a BlackBerry with an Aluminium case.
By the time BlackBerry gets its act together I suspect the next gen of Android and iPhones will be around the corner.
Sorry Apple, the _________________ Is Hotter Than the iPhone

I’d prefer a cooler device tbh. Especially during those long calls!
Onion bhaji!
“I love that is has zero buttons. It does it all through the screen’s touch abilities, and that’s all you need.”
This comment is seemingly designed to send me into a fit of fiery rage.
I’ve extolled the virtues of buttons on numerous occasions, so I won’t spout off again like some deranged nerd. Suffice it to say, there’s little basis for this remark other than the overly simplistic ‘touch is good, buttons are bad’ perspective. The reality is that both control methods have their advantages.
I agree. Jesus makes it sound like it’s a groundbreaking and innovative idea.
I imagine every phone company over the past 5 years has considered it at some point and for whatever reason has decided against it. Probably good reasons too. I know I can think of at least a couple that aren’t tech based to say the least.
Plus there is still a power button..
I thought you were going to start having a go at him for his use of the Oxford Comma for a second there.
HEY! you leave the oxford comma alone!
So many Americans use the Oxford comma these days, I’ve just given up on that front.
And they frequently begin their sentences with the word ‘and’. WTF?
I’ve never understood it either. Physical tactile buttons have their place for the odd occasion when you simply want to be sure you’ve actually activated a control. Capacitive buttons are awesome anytime an app hangs up on you, leaving you nothing else to try.
I dropped my S3 down the cludgie the other night and have lost all touchscreen function.
If it wasn’t for the wired buttons I’d never have been able to do a hard reset.
It didn’t work, I’m just saying is all.
My problem with it is that whole black area could be the screen, they could have moved the sensors up to the top, had hardware buttons down the bottom and moved the logo to the back….
I agree, seems like a bit of a trick they’re trying to pull off there with the bezel.
Seeing these pics, blackberry may indeed have a shot at bouncing back
They will need loads of apps, Mr./Mrs/Mis? Hat Kannaford.
I do hope so.
There are a lot of jobs riding on it.
A lot of RIM jobs riding on it,
WHEY-HEY!
So, is using a RIM product called “rimming” ?
Homophobe!
How do you come that conclusion ?
Are you Diaz in disguise ?
Damn it! I’ve been Rogered – over and out…
I actually like the new Blackberry design
Looks great. I don’t think the OS looks all that if what I’ve read online is to be believed though. I hope it reignites some Blackberry competition.
I agree that the front looks better (I think the Blackberry logo is a bit big though), but the back…no way does that look better than an iPhone! It’s like they spent their whole budget on getting a top product designer for the front, and then couldn’t be bothered with the rest.
I reckon they are just too late to the party now. Everyone who had a Blackberry when they were good is probably now on their next iteration of phone, which won’t be a Blackberry. Don’t even have the same hype as Windows phone simply because it isn’t that revolutionary (not that I am saying a moving tile is either but the perception exists)
Having used a BB Storm 2 for the last 18 months, I am now running on a iPhone 4S and I can say that I am having a much easier time with the iPhone 4S than I have with all of the time spent with the insufferable Storm 2. Keypad BB i.e with physical keypads rather than a touchscreen keypad always worked better for me with BB. But the internet tech on the Storm and Bolds was always a miss.
Spent pretty much a week with my new iPhone, the one Apple device I didn’t have in my arsenal, and I am enjoying it so much more. Less agitation than that of my previous BB. I didn’t pay through the nose to get it either.
I’ve learnt that these days no matter how nice a phone looks or the features it has, it all comes down to “are the developers gonna make apps for it”. I was fooled into buying a Nokia Lumia 800 on release and as nice as the phone was, it had no apps which made the phone inferior.
My next phone (this April) will probably be an android but developers are complaining about the amount of different screen resolutions they have to cater for so some are not making apps for android anymore.
Apple is overpriced but it does have all the apps one could want. with only 3 screen resolutions to worry about (iPad, iPhone/iPod touch, iPhone 5), developers love that. They also love the fact the apps can be used all the way back to iPhone 3gs.
So anyway my point is, will you get the apps you want/need if you get this nice looking phone. Will developers support it or will you be jealous of iOs and android.
