Can’t get enough sport while out and about? The BBC’s got you covered with a new free BBC Sport app for the iPhone (Android coming soon). The app brings together everything sport from Aunty into one slick interface, including a fancy fixtures calendar, live text coverage, gossip and rumour, and of course, results, with video coming soon too.
The app looks like a decent wrapper for the great BBC Sport Mobile site, with customisable news feeds, sports, and even news by area of the country. The Beeb’s also thrown in its new live mobile football scores, for those who don’t have Sky, so you can follow the action out and about, along with BBC Radio 5 Live.
It’s free, fast sport news from the BBC, so it’s worth a download even if you’re not the biggest sports fan. Android users will have to wait a little while thoughh — something to do with the sheer number of screen sizes slowing things up — but Aunty’s working hard to get it out as soon as possible, complete with tablet support to boot. “Android coming soon” now when have I heard that before BBC? It’s really quite shocking that they keep pulling shit like given how they’re funded.
Just installed, feels nice and slick so far and I like the layout; makes a change from the Sky Sports News app, which has gone downhill pretty quickly in my opinion.
Shame it’s iPhone only. I could do with an iPad version.
