A report in a local paper covering the Palo Alto area of San Francisco makes embarrassing reading for Microsoft, claiming thieves broke into its campus and stole… five iPads.
The report, scanned in by a Reddit user, says Microsoft staff complained to police that two iPad 2s, two iPad 3s and, er, one iPad 4, were taken from staff members during a week over the Christmas period. No Microsoft products were reported as being stolen.
Of course, we have no idea what staff in the particular Microsoft building in question were doing. While it’s funny to imagine a building packed full of Surface tablets and thieves who laughed at them and pocketed iPads instead, it may have been a dull software team facility bereft of any MS hardware product. We’ll never know. [Reddit via MacWorld]
