The X House is not the name of a popular rave venue, it’s an awesome X-shaped home hanging off a cliff outside Barcelona.
Designed by Spanish architecture firm Cadaval & Solà-Morales, the awe-inspiring pad is basically two intersecting rectangular structures with four triangular recesses. One on the side avoids a tree, the other gives a view of neighboring houses, the back one is home to the garage, and the front—the pièce de résistance—is made entirely of windows for an incredible view of the hills below. Whether they’re classic Gaudí creations or modern structures like this one, the buildings in Barcelona are consistently incredible. The X House is no exception. The owners better have awesome parties. [Dezeen]

Looks like a bag of shit to me. Give me a red brick Barratt home on an indentikit estate any day. Best of British.
Haha the Barratt will probably be better insulated than this concrete and glass monstrosity!
That said I would love to own this property.
Actually aren’t there thermo concretes of summat that stay really warm in the evening after a warm day?
Thems be the speshol concretes, yes sireee.
I would guess its less of a problem in barcelona than it would be in slough.
Plus theres a slim chance that this house might not have the wiring done by an armless blind man using only his teeth, unlike the UK’s current crop of ne homes.
dammit, “new homes”.
Listen homes, any UK wiring has gotta be better than any done in Spain, surely!
Also, insulation is important in warm places as well as cold places. This place could be a sweltering greenhouse and those concrete blocks could keep emitting unwanted heat into the home through the night…
Good insulation is crucial for conditioning the air unless the outside air is not too far from room temperature all year round.
Uk wiring regs are (presumably) better, what I often find in new homes is less so.
Its a very nice house, obviously, and that view is amazing. Just a bit too minimalist and sterile for my tastes. Swimming in that pool would be amazing.
Also, it does sort of fit into its surroundings somehow, even though it doesn’t match the surrounding architecture at all.
I think I’d only ever get into the pool by jumping out of the window.
Looks like the house from GTA: San Andreas in the last picture…
