Sometimes Google Translate doesn’t get it quite right. To illustrate that point in the most outlandish way possible, CDZA took the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme, crunched it through Google Translate for all 26 supported languages, then took it back to English.
The results are rather hilarious. Just one question—what exactly in the song translated from English to Mandarin to English as “apricot”? [CDZA via BoingBoing]

given it’s position in the song I’d say its a replacement for “maxin’”
Actually not bad considering the appalling errors Google Translate comes out with when dealing with Russian.
Even if you properly translated something through 26 languages it would probably come out as a garbled mess.
Well, no… a proper translation would get the words, contexts and meanings correct in such a fashion that the end result would at least still mean that which was originally intended. That’s why human translators will never be replaced by machines: it’s fuckin’ hard and tricky work.
Well, in some limited degree you might be right, although it depends on the 26 languages. My understanding of languages is that quite often there aren’t literal translations available, so you have to change words into something similar or that means the same in that culture, so in all likelihood after 26 translations without knowing the original meaning, it would lose a lot of its original words and probably meanings methinks.
But then I’m no expert
, that’s just going off my limited knowledge.
