Gizmodo reader Gavin Heffernan just finished this really beautiful day and night time lapse of Death Valley’s dunes in the US. “Though we almost froze, we got some amazing stars, geminid meteors, star trails, planets, and even a UFO,” he says:
“The ‘UFO’ appears at (1:30-1:35) and makes three broad circular sweeps over the desert. Though in timelapse it appears to be moving fast, consider the 5 seconds = about 50 minutes, so it’s creeping. Closer picture below. It can also be seen cutting through the circular star trails in the shot used above!”
Now, like Agent Fox Mulder says, UFO means Unidentified Flying Object, not a spaceship full of little green men. Can you help Gavin identify this flying object?
I’m sure that many of the deniers of the Moon landings will give him some awesome answers! The truth is out there, right? RIGHT?

It’s an unidentified flying object.
its a satilight, that is orbiting the earth, its just the turning of the earth make it look like it did a u-turn.
looks like a satellite to me, an alien satellite.

Nope, a satellite wouldn’t have regular blinking lights, or more importantly green/red, port/starboard wing markers on it.
lolhotdog is right, it’s almost certainly a UAV.
That does not convince me (and I wanna believe!)
It’s a UAV in a timelapse, port and starboard lights in green and red.
Because of the length of the activity in the area, it is most likely a UAV sent to check up on them and make sure they are not boarding/flying a UFI (I as in Idiots, and not typo)

I only had to look at it for a second to see that was a plane… you can clearly see how its nav lights blink as the plane moves along….
