Unsurprising reports about what the next iPad will look like have been coming out, parts showing off an iPad Mini-esque casing for the bigger iPad have been leaked and well, I’m no maths whizz, but one plus one usually equals two. If you want to get an idea of what the next iPad might, maybe, possibly, no guarantees here (!) will look like, we’ve got you covered.
Gizmodo friend and wildly talented Martin Hajek whipped up a few excellent 3D renders showcasing the purported next iPad (or at least what’s being rumoured about the purported next iPad) against the iPad Mini, and the current iPad. It’s actually a really great look. You can see the bezel is thinner, which gives the iPad a slimmer feel, and that the back is black, just like the leaked backing we saw yesterday. If the next iPad looks just like this, I won’t have many complaints (especially if it’s significantly lighter). It’ll be determined on how the thinner bezel will effect holding the bigger iPad.
But take a look at the 3D renders below from Martin and see more of his fantastic 3D work in full detail here.

Is This What the Next iPad Will Look Like?
This Looks Like the First Photo of a Fully Working iPad Mini
Nice work for sure, but his talents are wasted on making things that already exist look a bit bigger.
you could do it in 10 seconds in photoshop
Peter Jackson could do 90% of it purely with long lenses and perspective tricks!
And the total resources of WETA.
Looks wise – seems like a nice way to encase the device, the hardware innovation is what I am interested in. Course it won’t be amazing balls but let’s see what the new model brings. I love my iPad 2 but I want the amazing display and faster processing power.
I think the term is “amazeballs”
Yes, I prefer amazing balls. I have amazing balls. Do you?
I think mine are standard.
You must have handled a lot of balls to conclude this – I commend you on your endeavours.
I’ve liked 100% of all balls I have played with. I’ve only played with my balls and I fucking loved it!
Yeah, I believe ya – it is just possible you could be a wanker
Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t see why you would need the slimmer Mini-esque bezels on the larger iPad. On the Mini, those bezels were slimmed down to allow the thing to be held by both sides in one hand. Since that’s not an option with the full-sized iPad, wouldn’t it be better to have a wider bezel that can be gripped between finger and thumb without touching the screen?
They should come to you for ergonomics. Damn Apple.
Apple know their ergonomics, but sometimes I fear marketing reasons take precedence.
‘Form over functionality’ and such…
Either that or these renders are a load of crap.
Is this all Apple’s got up its sleeve?
But what a very big wizard sleeve that must be to fit a iPad up it.
I thought Wizard robes with an iPad pocket were commonplace. :/
Wow. It is like an iPad but with a smaller bezel. This must be the best article ever – very clever how the writer pretends to be a aimless prick. Casey is a legend, it almost feels like real information worth knowing, but isn’t – not an easy trick to pull off.
How do Apple do it? Apple have their detractors but nobody does minor incremental updates like them, best in the world at marginal fulfilment. Samsung and others could learn a thing or two from them about treading water.
Do I detect sarcasm?

I just broke that machine.

And yep, people such as your good self still continue to fall for it. D’oh.
You’d be out of a job without me.
I’d be on the streets, for sure.
Those click-throughs pay for your wages. Just like people buying the products my company produces pay my wages.
Holy crap, I can barely contain my fucking excitement.
