I can hardly believe it, but this comes from the horse’s mouth: Rockstar has just announced that we won’t be seeing GTA V until September 17th — four months later than planned. Say it aint so Rockstar? Seriously? We want it NOW!
Apparently the delay is simply down to spit and polish. Rockstar’s just not done with the coding and refinements yet. Basically, GTA V isn’t fully baked yet. And while you and I might love a gooey brownie or two, a half-baked game is just plain infuriating.
“To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.”
So, while I’m not loving the wait, it’s better Rockstar gets it right first time, and doesn’t make us wade through glitch, after bug, after crash. In the meantime, we’ll just have to sate ourselves with GTA Vice City, which has just hit the PSN. [Rockstar]

could be a big factor for many if they upgrade. i personally dont think consoles can cope with GTA these days. it looks terrible on them
They wouldn’t have set spring as the date if they were always going to release on the new consoles, as they were never going to be released any earlier than late this year.
September is still probably too early for that too.
However, it may bode well for a release on the PC at least.
It would be console I think, pretty sure SONY have said they wont be bringing a new console out till 2014.

I have had the same feeling when I found out that Respawn Entertainment (ex Infinity Ward) will take 3 years to bring out their next game, not goooood (with fake Russian Accent)
Means no PC version until next year as it always comes 6-12 months later

well, this might hurt the standard COD generic 4 output round that time.. a new xbox would be brilliant.. but i have doubts..

So it comes out in May buggy as fuck and then come the screams of “grrr arrrg I’m sick of games being released too soon”.

Some bugs are best left in. The one in GTA 4 where parking in a swing would launch your car like a cannon were great fun.
I lost interest in GTA4 before finding that.
Shame.
I spent most of my time free roaming online with friends. The storyline was completely uninteresting.

They do this every single time! Why not just give theirselves more time than they need rather than get our hopes up only to crush them. If I remember rightly it was delayed till October last time?
