Android Fans Get Ticket to See BBC Sport App

The all-new BBC Sport app, which has been an iOS exclusive for quite some time, has finally popped up on Android. Just in time for the big [insert topical sport reference here].

The Android app is quite simple and stylish, although there's a lot of white space about the place, often making it appear a little sparse. It works in both portrait and landscape mode, with both display options featuring the lovely slide-in sidebar pictured above, accessed through tapping the menu or just sliding it into view.

There are text commentary sections for live reporting of big events, streaming live video and audio, football tables, live scores and future fixtures, although some sports have been relegated to the "Other Sports" section, with their content pulled in from the BBC mobile web site.

Sadly the BBC Sport app is only accessible on screens with 7" displays or smaller, so there's no joy here for owners of the larger Android tablets.
