As silly as it may sound, more and more people are reporting about an Apple watch that maybe its time to put away those Dick Tracy jokes (never!). This time, Bloomberg throws its hat in the mix saying that Apple has “a team of about 100 product designers working on a wristwatch-like device that may perform some of the computing tasks now handled by the iPhone and iPad”
Bloomberg cites two people familiar with Apple’s plans, which is pretty much only half as vague as one person familiar with Apple’s plans. Bloomberg suggests that the team’s size — which has grown in the past year and includes “managers, members of the marketing group and software and hardware engineers who previously worked on the iPhone and iPad” — might mean that Apple is no longer just experimenting with the watch. That it could be something more than that.
But still, no timeline has been cited so this could be years before we see anything. [Bloomberg]

World Famous Designer Philippe Starck Says He's Working on "Revolutionary" Apple Product
Why are you using the iPhone prototype as the head picture?
To show they have used curved glass before.
Design by committee eh?
i truly fear that i’m going to want one of these, knowing that I would look like a total douche wearing one. however, i’ve worn a casio f-91w for most my life, and know total douches wear those. you can’t win.
Casio f-91
HAHA douche bag !
*now total
I’m expecting this device to be magical and revolutionary. Something no one has thought of doing before. Proof that Apple can create something from scratch, and not just improve on the ideas of others.
Oh, wait… http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2012/07/sony-smartwatch-review-maybe-the-worst-thing-sony-has-ever-made/
and it will also tell time like no other watch.
You mean it’ll be permanently stuck on PST with DST applied?
Hmmm, that’s not very revolutionary, especially if it’s not coming within a year. Look at the pebble watch on kickstarter. Sure it’s far from perfect, but alongside sony’s watch, it’s another example of other companies 1st gen attempts at a watch. I think within the next year there will be at least 2 – 3 more smart watch like devices released. Hopefully at least one will come in brushed metal or made to look like a watch that people would want to wear this millennium…
