It’s pretty damn cold in Blighty at the moment. Someone left the hose out overnight when it was freezing, and in the morning, he had awesome cylinder ice. His wife probably yelled at him, but that is one happy accident.
I don’t know how the hell this works. It could be fake, although I don’t know why anyone would fake something like this. What I do know is that it’s absolutely mesmerising and I could watch it all day. That, and I really want some cylinder ice. [YouTube via B3ta via OhHaveYouSeenThis]

hosepipe full of water, does not break pipe when freezing, hose pipe warms up during the day, wiggle pipe around and break the ice (into little bits) turn hose on, pressure forces ice out.
i guess if he’d done this 4 hours earlier / sun wasn’t out / didn’t wiggle the pipe etc, maybe it wouldn’t have happened

its happened many 1000′s of times before, any full time gardener, farmer hand, site worker has seen it, its what happens in winter if lazy folk dont empty hoses after use, can lead to hose being damaged.
