Film posters are little teasers of what’s to come, giving you hints about how the movie’s going to play out, but they’re normally boring, static things. This is 2013, why can’t they be more, well, cool? They can! Here’s a sweet-looking moving Star Trek Into Darkness poster to tantalise your geekiness, plus a ‘behind the scenes’ clip with a bit more footage from the movie. [TotalFilm]

Looks Like That Really Is the Enterprise Crashing in Star Trek Into Darkness
Oh Yes, Bones Is Still Awesome in Star Trek Into Darkness
This Is the Badass Dark Enterprise Kirk Battles In Star Trek Into Darkness
am really looking forward to this film
Yeah I saw this a while ago. I thought it was nicely done. Seeing London like that makes me wonder one thing: Is Boris Johnson somehow still mayor?
I think the future will show that it’s like that BECAUSE he was mayor!

Erm, it’s just a flash ad isn’t it?
Granted it might end with the (very dark knight-esque) lead image on the poster but it’s not really a break from the norm is it?
Was half expecting some combination of print and digital in a more tangible form. There’s no permanence to this like a poster
Yeah, I agree. How exactly is that a ‘poster’?
Poster ? Where have you people been for the last 15 years ? This is just a small animated Flash ad, in what way does this qualify as a ‘moving poster’ ?
A ‘poster’ refers to a printed image.
A better example of ‘moving posters’ is the one for The Wolverine.
Seems to me they sort of missed the opportunity to make his Matrix-trench blow in the breeze.
Isn’t that the whole point of having a Matrix-trench?
Totally. Opportunity missed.
God I hate autoplay.
Why is this film not in my life already?!
