Men’s “entertainment” magazine Playboy is trialing augmented reality features using popular AR tool Layar to handle the embedded business, with silicone enthusiasts now able to engage with their tawdry purchase better than ever.
The new interactive features, which Layar and Playboy have launched in the Netherlands, sees users and abusers able to scan in the mag’s pages to access exclusive additional digital content, which, we’d assume, means a few extra photos not deemed good enough to print and some videos taken on the camera man’s mobile.
The magazine also includes AR links that’ll open up music playlists (hopefully 1970s porn backing tracks), plenty of links to launch movie and game trailers on your phone, plus competitions and more. It’s fairly futuristic, but still not quite as futuristic as queuing up 23GB worth of HD rips on the Pirate Bay. [Layar]

“Men’s “entertainment” magazine Playboy”
I would perhaps refer to Playboy being “light entertainment.”
