Triumphant mobile processor developer Qualcomm let slip a little Android secret in its latest financial update, telling investors it expects to see Google release its next big version of Android in Q2 of 2013.
This timeline would tie in perfectly with Google’s usual plan of action. The company’s I/O developer conference is scheduled to take place on May 15th this year, with last year’s event used to announce and launch the “Jelly Bean” code and Nexus 7 tablet.
This also fits in very well with the earlier Motorola X-Phone rumour. Could we see a hot new Motorola mobile running Android 5.0 launch this May? You might suddenly regret ordering that Nexus 4 this week if we do…

LG's Android 4.0 Updates Arriving in Q2 and Q3 of 2012
Can’t help but feeling that this is the year i should have gone to Google I/O
FREE STUFF!
Its expected they will give out free versions of the new nexus 7.
Will the Nexus 4 get key lime pie?
Undoubtedly.
Will the Samsung Galaxy S? Am sure it will.
CM11?
No doubt at all (and as an aside I got my Nexus 4 bumper today and for twenty odd quid I’m not overly impressed it has to be said. I was hoping for slightly ‘grippy’ sides but guess that’s my fault for lack of research
WTF, I thought the Nexus phones get updates? Not that I’m too bothered but that’s what I thought.
I’ve ordered a full case from play.com for £3.00 I knew the bumper wouldn’t be too good, just like the Apple one, shitty.
No doubt means YES of course it will be updated
Oh shit, I read that as doubtful for some reason. haha.
But my initial comment was on the back of above saying that I would regret buying a N4?
but the question is, when can i get an upgrade for my Google/HTC Nexus One?!
You’d need to put another core into it really.
they sell them in argos right?
and i really should get a new phone, i bought it for £20, the screen is smashed, it’s 3 years old now. I just can’t be bothered as it does what i need
OK. So 1585. 15th May explains 15 and 5. What about the ’8′?
6pm perhaps?
It’s a limited edition O/S with only 8 copies being distributed.
8 Core support? big.LITTLE?
scratch that last one
8 Core Moto X?
“You might suddenly regret ordering that Nexus 4 this week if we do…” the only regret you will have is not ordering one. Fantastic, beautiful and at a great price.
The only thing I suddenly regret is reading this article and the complete non-news worthiness of it. Stupid Giz
