Finally here and with the highly touted UltraPixel* camera in tow, HTC’s newest flagship phone is ready to hold its own. Well, on paper, at least. But how does it compare to everyone else’s flagship?
While the newly-named UltraPixel* may be its billboard feature, the One also wins the the battery and pixel density breakdowns, respectively, with a 2300 mAh Li-ion battery and 468 ppi screen.
The handset-only price is still to be determined, and obviously, a phone can’t be judged on specs alone. But if what we’re seeing so far holds up, HTC may just have a winner on its hands and in your pockets.
*No such thing.

Pound for pound Nexus 4 is best phone in the world!
“Pound for pound there is more sugar in a lemon than in a strawberry”
Can’t argue with that
I’d rather have my Note II
But not for the price of a Nexus though
Can somone explain that PPI figure?
Seems to make no sense looking at the rest of the specs? 0.1″ smaller than a GS3 screen but with the same res cant amount to 140ppi surely?
Sorry, the specs should’ve read 1280×1080, giving it the PPI figure. Changed now.
Chris,4MP rear camera? Only 4?
Look up the superpixel – it’s basically got pixels that are roughly twice the size, theoretially increasing quality. Of course, I’m pretty sceptical. But it’s a change from the norm, at least.
Gracias
Sick screen then…
any sample pictures from the camera yet?
Why does the Nexus 4 have $200 on contract?
We’re NOT in America
Everything in that list is in USD. Lazy journalism.
I know but even less relevant in UK where only a moron bough a Nexus 4 on contract (waits for a moron to appear to claim valid reason for not buying unlocked!)
I’m a sadomasochist.
I used to criticise Giz for this sort of thing but then thought “what’s the point? I have no idea what kind of constraints and pressures the journalists are under”.
That said I am still at the office correcting contracts so may have a skewed view of the whole situation at this late hour!
Sorry James, I only just spotted this error too — we’ll get it changed first thing in the morning, promise.
Sorry Julian, we took this from the US site but haven’t had a chance to change the UK prices yet, as we’ve not heard from all the UK networks yet. Will get it changed over in the morning.
Why not compare it with Xperia z etc? More comparable screen
